Europe had 80 years of free military protection after WW2. European leaders thought they were in charge of "international law", without needing a military to enforce it. They are realizing that they were wrong and it is causing many of them to lash out in anger and frustration.

The USA is responsible for nearly 45% of all pharmaceutical drug innovation worldwide, most of the funding coming from American taxpayers. Yet we pay 3x more for pharma drugs than Germany and the rest of Europe. Germany doesn't fund R&D, but then they force pharma companies to sell drugs cheaply in Germany. They are freeloading on the USA, just like they do on defense spending. Americans pay higher pharma prices because of Germany's tactics. It is time for the Trump Admin to use Section 301 tariff authority to hold Germany accountable on this pharma pricing abuse. This trend of Germany and the rest of Europe freeloading off of the USA has to end.

In a time where the EU looks to impose its Digital Euro and eliminate cash from circulation, Switzerland voted to enshrine a “right to cash” into its Constitution. This is the way forward for countries. All EU countries should follow suit.
