Transacting on Sonic today as a first time Sonic user. Step 1: Try and buy Sonic directly. Not yet listed on CEXes. Step 2: Start to bridge WETH from Ethereum to Sonic. Wait 10 mins for bridge to sync. Step 3: Try claiming bridged WETH on Sonic, Metamask says you have insufficient ETH. Step 4: Research the error and find out later that insufficient ETH is the generic EVM error on Metamask for insufficient gas token. You need some Sonic to claim your Sonic. Step 5: Market sell some altcoin you forgot you had on random CEX to USDT and then to FTM. Step 6: Withdraw your FTM to Metamask after adding Fantom network to Metamask. Step 7: Figure out how to upgrade FTM to S through some blog post you found on the internet. Step 8: Try swap Max FTM for S. Metamask throws "insufficient ETH" error again, oops. Step 9: Leave some unknown quantity of FTM dust on your Fantom account and upgrade the rest to S. Step 10: Congrats, now you have gas token to claim your bridged WETH on Sonic. Step 11: Figure out which DEX has liquidity on Sonic and swap WETH for S and then S for your desired token. Step X: Profit 😎 Ironically the token I tried this out with was @HeyAnonai which makes DeFi easier to use with agentic workflows. @danielesesta tell me we can do all this in a single prompt with heyanon soon?
