First day at the gym.

The older I get the more I hate overconsumption. Your kid doesn’t need an Easter basket full of plastic junk that is going to end up in a landfill. As much as I hate the “back in my day” trope, it applies here. When I was a kid, all we got for Easter was chocolate. Why do we need to buy so much stuff for each holiday?

I still can’t believe Kim Min Hee went from being an Alist actress with a promising future to being known as an adulterer. She got banned in Korea, and the fact that the man is old enough to be her grandfather is so hard to understand. Like, why? What was the appeal for her? I just feel deep down that part of her regrets this situation-ship,he can’t even marry her because he isn’t divorced yet. Threw her career away for nothing 😭😭

When I was growing up, pubs would often be rammed until closing time (not so much during the week, but certainly at weekends). The bell for “last orders” would usually spark a rush to the bar. These days, even the most popular pubs seem to start emptying out around 8.00-9.00pm, including on Fridays and Saturdays. Has anyone else noticed this phenomenon? Is there a reason for it?

My boyfriend (27M) and I (23F) have been together for three years. I thought everything was fine, but about a month ago, he said he was a little bored and that we needed new stimulation. He said we should both think about this. I thought he meant, like, "let's go camping" and started making plans for something fun to do. But a week ago we talk again, and he says that he's found this girl (19?F) and she's perfect for us. That being with this girl will help him see how much he really loves me, and may even convince him to marry me (I was married for 18 months before and I'm embarrassed about being an ex-wife already). I really didn't want to do it, but he said, "Oh that figures. It's kind of disturbing how you reject anything new." And that kind of made me feel bad? Anyway, we finally tried to see the girl on Wednesday. She was okay, but the whole thing was too weird for me. We were sitting there awkwardly, and then out of the blue, he turns to me and commands "take your top off." I couldn't do it. I was way too nervous and everything spiralled from there. The girl left maybe 20 mins later. Now, it's been a few days, and he won't talk to me. I'm not sure how to make him see I'm sorry.

I married a man full of childhood wounds, trauma, and spiritual struggles, and all I gave him was love, support, and safety. In return, he gave me anxiety, depression, and years of therapy to heal. Advice: Don’t become the lifeline for broken people, because you end up destroying yourself.

From the files of an Alzheimer’s caregiver. Today my mom asked me at least 20 times where my dad is. He died in 2002. She asked me at least 20 times why I was sitting in a recliner resting. I had a painful surgery last week and I’m still recovering ( barely) She asked me at least 20 times when her parents were going to stop by. They have been dead for 40 and 35 years respectively. She asked me where Paul is 20 times ( that’s me) She wandered around every time I turned my head away from her. She walked by with no clothes on once. She went into the bathroom and locked herself in. All while I tried to watch her 24/7 while on painkillers. At least I could laugh and even asked her if she’d like to dance once. Thankfully she said absolutely not. 🤣 God bless her. Alzheimer’s is a vicious disease.
