@adamboxer1 When I read TLAC I remember thinking "teaching your grandma to suck eggs much? " However, when I started implementing it in my classroom, I was like "woah! This is amazing!" Is not a gospel by any means but the tiny tweaks he suggests make massive impacts

I'm about 10 chapters into "You feel it just below the ribs" by @happierman and Janina Matthewson, and I'm finding it very hard to put down. It's a brilliant book. I just wish it hadn't been so hard to track down in the UK! Totally amazing piece of fiction @withinthewires

@SPryke2 I've listened to both books. The story is engrossing, but the sex scenes are comical at points. Only so much broken furniture I can take before it becomes a demolition derby! They're fun pulp

OK Twitter… who has read this? I’m about 100 pages from the end. I’ve enjoyed it and will read the sequel BUT… how many times is the phrase ‘He folded his arms across his chest’ used? It’s comical! Twice on one page at one point! So jarring 😂 But also… dragons! 🐉 @Team_English1

#BestOf2023 My favourite TV this year: the new Doctor Who; Lockwood & Co; and A Kind Of Spark. All wonderful and magical and brilliant. Catch up with them now if you haven't already!

@withinthewires Hubby bought me "you feel it just below the ribs" for Xmas. Considering we're in the UK, this is a way more amazing present than it may be to others. I'm so excited to read it!

I don't think I have enough followers for this, but - as secondary teacher, primary obsessive and parent - I call on all wonderful eduthinkers to share their brilliance on why pen licences should STOP. Please. Can we pull together the thread to end all pen licences?
Clare Sealy@ClareSealy

@chpar22 @AdrianBethune I hate pen licenses. And why do we even have this hang up about pens. Write in pencil!

@whippedjack @CaptainKrail You will be Miss Frizzle. I know where you can buy a space dress... Also, 2 fingers up to the a-holes who say they can't be taught. My life is teaching 16yo's Shakespeare. If they can tell me the story of Macbeth, you can get yours to love learning, which is the point of kindy

Which book characters did you learn to read with? Janet and John? Peter and Jane? Jennifer Yellow-hat and Roger Red-hat? Biff, Chip and Kipper? We've got them all covered in a special feature on reading schemes in our brand new book. It's available now from Focus Education!

Help needed from bookish people, please: children’s books involving time, can be already published, or coming early next year (close to my next book, Twice Upon A Time). Could be time travel, historical, dual time narrative etc.

@Dazzalee127320 I do this with vocab. I say it, they say it. Then with their fingers in their ears and then with their hands under their chins, "feeling the words". Then they say it holding their noses- to make everyone look daft! 😀 Any examples of what you get them to chorus at you?
