10 pros of bsky: 1.) You can credit people without your reach getting nuked. 2.) You can post links without getting surpressed 3.) the block feature actually does what it should 4.) you can post as often or as little as you want, everyone has the same reach. 5.) You can use w/e words you want without being shadow banned 6.) A LOT less AI users. OFC there's still a hoard of "artists", but no where near as bad as twitter 7.) your creations won't be fed into an ai program to begin with 8.) It's ad-free!!! You don't need to pay to avoid that shit. 9.) Feed is chronological, which I MISSSSED SO MUCH. 10.) Bots actually get banned if you report them. bsky's moderation is actually really good IMO. ♥

Based on X's new Terms of Service and art editing AI update, you should probably keep your artwork off of the platform. I've seen a number of people suggesting using poison like nightshade, or posting your art as a gif. While it sounds nice, they don't help much if at all.

The reason the Larian backlash is so intense isn't because people hate AI. It's because Swen Vincke stood on stage at the 2024 Game Awards and said future GOTYs would be made by studios that don't 'treat developers like numbers on a spreadsheet.' One year later, he's using tools trained on stolen artist labor. This is not merely policy disagreement. There's a visceral betrayal here of stated values. You don't get to give speeches about respecting creative labor while using AI models built by disrespecting creative labor.

It’s been a week since we announced Divinity, our next RPG, and a lot has become lost in translation. Larian’s DNA is agency. Everything we work towards is to the benefit of our teams, games, and players. A better work day, and a better game. Our successes come from empowering people to work in their own way and bring the best out of their skill & craft, so that we can make the best RPGs we can possibly make. In that context, it would be irresponsible for us not to evaluate new technologies. However, our processes are always evolving, and where they are not efficient or fail to align with who we are, we will make changes. To give you more insight, we’ll do an AMA featuring our different departments after the holiday break, in which you’ll get the opportunity to ask us any questions you have about Divinity and our dev process directly.
