Hey everyone 👋 It's been a while. I've been working on Hyper.place, an app to help you explore and develop ideas. You might find it surprisingly relevant or maybe not, but I'd love for you to try it out and share a few thoughts. Thanks!

GraceAI can't be the name forever... How do we feel about Symphony? For anyone who doesn't already know, it's a marketing strategy creator trained on my brain, engineered by @youramigoai (@wordmarkit helping me think visually) (also this word looks preposterous reading it 536 times (the # of typefaces loaded in))

I've been eager to read "The Mountain in the Sea" by Ray Nayler and finally brought it on holiday in Türkiye. It pleasantly begins with a depiction of Turkish tea, coffee, and breakfast culture, exploring themes of communication, intelligence, and octopuses—so good!

The spatial computing app that I think intellectuals truly desire is war room software, collaborative spaces to do thinking and memory palacing within

Add to "Watch Later": youtube.com/watch?v=EpVTEo… Kevin Munger explains how Vilém Flusser's media theory argues that we are shifting from a world centered around linear, text-based thinking to one that is more visual and interconnected. This shift, according to Flusser, has profound implications for society and human communication.

Saw this at the “Poetics of Encryption” exhibition at KW Berlin yesterday. It assembles various concepts around value extraction in the internet and social networks—definitely worth a watch. New Extractivism extractivism.online

“what troubles me the most; In necessarily promoting my own project within the environment of the attention economy, I feel like I’m participating in the appropriation of myself.” From Jenny Odell’s talk How to Do Nothing on XOXO 2019 youtu.be/dveUrpp6vs8

@asegalini Indeed! And this idea that we can be anyone we want to be, do anything we want to do, lures us away from our first community. Not that I’m complaining 😄

“Once upon a time people were born into communities and had to find their individuality. Today people are born individuals and have to find their communities.” From The Post-Individual by Yancey Strickler This was a good Sunday read for me and might be worth your time as well. 🌻 ystrickler.com/thepostindivid…

I'll share one of my “underlined” parts: “Lifelong learning is an euphemism to a lifelong production, work and exploitation.” Han discusses how difficult it is to get closure when lifelong learning is expected from us and ads that we must relearn the ability of achieving closure. As someone who is interested in learning but not always certain about the destination, I'll definitely be thinking more about what closure means to me.

With Han's ideas on the relationship between design and philosophy, and references to Otl Aicher and Hannah Arendt, there's much to unpack here. Han jokingly confesses that he condenses his sentences so much that the reader is forced to underline each and every sentence in his books.
