@martinvars Why talk about Palestinians in the 3rd person like they are objects or commodities and not people with hopes, aspirations, families and a history? Why should they move from their homes? Why were 1.8m people bombed almost to destruction so their homes and livelihoods are in ruins?

If Germany took over a million Syrians from the rubble and spent over $100 billion nourishing them, why can't Jordan (11 million) and Egypt (117 million) take 1.8 million Gazans from the rubble. Same language, religion, culture and origin.

Only in the UK are online services open limited hours. Because even cloud based technology needs to rest in the evening?

Ian Hogarth aka @soundboy pens a superb piece in the FT on Can Europe build its first trillion-dollar start up ? Let’s not forget that it’s not that long ago (16 years or so), that folks would ask “can Europe ever produce a Billion dollar start-up?” Article here: on.ft.com/4fMbjqc

@NickBuckleyMBE Hmm.. the other way of looking at this might be to look at how the Empire profiteered and plundered the colonies. In the case of India for example draining $45trillion dollars over 200 years - over 17x the UK's GDP in today's money.

Bittersweet ending to our Darktrace investment. Proud of what everyone there achieved and fortunate to have been a passenger in the journey. Maybe I can finally afford that new computer now :) stocks.apple.com/A5jp4tTZzS_OEA…

@martinvars Please don’t make this about Jews or Muslims or Christians… it’s about state sponsored terrorism. And empathy for ruthless killing of 30,000 Palestinians - the majority of whom are women and children theguardian.com/world/2024/feb…

As a Jew there is something I can't understand. It concerns the incredible amount of people around the world who have strong opinion about us. Unfortunately mostly negative but occasionally like here very positive. Still the question is why? Why do so many have such strong opinion about Jews. Case in point Brazil, 215 million inhabitants of which ONLY around 120,000 are Jewish. Jews don't even make one person in 1000 in Brazil. Muslims even less. So why does the Israel War with Hamas become such a divisive issue in Brazil with Lula, who hates us (comparing us to Nazis), and Bolsonaro who loves us holding the Israel flag? Wouldn't the normal thing be that nobody in Brazil cares about us one way or another? As a Jew I frequently feel that what would be best for us would be if we were ignored. Other wars that are way more lethal get far less attention.

In response to Lula's antisemitic statement comparing Israel to Hitler, more than one million Brazilians have taken to the streets of Sao Paulo to express their support for Israel and stand against antisemitism. 🇧🇷🇮🇱

@RishiSunak I presume you will also advocate as vociferously and act against the anti-Muslim comments being made in the media by your Conservative colleagues or is there are hierarchy of bigotry being evidenced?

In Parliament this week, a dangerous signal was sent that intimidation works. It is toxic for our society and our politics. It is an affront to the liberties and values we hold dear in Britain. Our democracy cannot and must not bend to the threat of violence and intimidation.
