This @FlyQuest video goes down as one of the worst videos I've ever watched from an esports org. If you want to understand why TH look lifeless: If you are a coach, don't lie about the nature of your project. You can have a ruthless project, or a "win together as friends" project. I've seen multiple teams win both ways. Just as in conventional sports. BUT if you repeatedly give interviews saying that "this is a long term project" and "we want to keep roster until end of the year" (and frame your project like this to your players, see the Ice interview from last split where he talks as if TH is a family)... you CANNOT then go back on your word and kick 2 players in less than 1.5 splits (Sheo implies he was kicked, not stepped down). If you do, it's not surprising that no-one on the team will take any risk, they will just assume that they will be next to be scapegoated. (Also everyone assumes that Ice is gone as soon as Hype is available, and no-one from staff has publicly said otherwise to counter the narrative). Players are not robots. It's impossible to play under these conditions. If the plan was always to be ruthless, do it from the start openly. (Also don't underrate the value of team glue players like Flakked in development rosters, but that's nothing new LEC teams have been doing that for years)
