Today in Rock History May 15, 1996 Nickelback released their debut studio album, Curb exclusively in Canada through the non-profit organization FACTOR. The album was recorded at Turtle Recording Studios in Richmond, British Columbia, with producer Larry Anschell. It features a raw, grunge-influenced sound, with many tracks written by lead vocalist and guitarist Chad Kroeger dating back to 1993. Several songs from their earlier EP, Hesher, including “Where?” and “Left,” were re-recorded for this album, while “Fly” and “Window Shopper” were remixed and remastered. In 2002, after signing with Roadrunner Records, Curb was remastered and released internationally.
