“One acquaintance who is close to the Party élite told me that he had $7 million sequestered…’I’m not expecting to get the money back.’ At the end of our meeting, he pulled me into a tight hug and whispered a prognosis for the regime: ‘This is over.’” newyorker.com/magazine/2026/…

Testosterone, SHBG, and free testosterone levels by race in the U.S. in the nationally-representative NHANES survey show a curious pattern. Whites have the lowest average levels of free test, followed by Blacks, then Hispanics, then Asians. That bucks the stereotypes!

FIRST OFFENSE, NO SECOND CHANCES! ✂️ If you have sex with a child 13 yrs old or younger in Louisiana, you WILL be castrated on your first offense. Some are calling this law "barbaric" and say offenders can be reformed. Is castration a just punishment on the first offense?

I appreciate the intent here but why would you as a husband ever comment on twitter on your wife's sexual history?
Trevor Sheatz@TrevorSheatz

My wife was formerly promiscuous. I was a virgin. She was then radically born-again. Committed to church, evangelized constantly, Puritan books in her bedroom, prayer journals, grief over past sexual sin, etc. We got to know each other well for over a year, dated for four months, engaged for two and a half, and didn't sin sexually with one another. Our first kiss with each other was at the altar on our wedding day (reaction pic attached!). We've been married for over five years now, and she's been the most wonderful and godly wife, mother to our three children, and homemaker you could imagine. She's more pure than most virgins, as biblical purity has less to with past sins (though they certainly matter) and more to do with one's current posture of the heart and daily decisions to honor the Lord (Matt. 5:8). We're far too quick to forget the story of the woman labeled as a known "sinner" (likely a prostitute) in Luke 7:36-50 who was washing Jesus' feet with her tears while kissing them too. The Pharisees were shocked that Jesus let a public sinner do this. Jesus responded with a parable about debts being forgiven and ended with this powerful conclusion: "Her many sins have been forgiven; that’s why she loved much. But the one who is forgiven little, loves little" (Luke 7:47). Everyone seems to highlight the benefits of virginity, and it certainly is a blessing. But we forget to highlight the benefits of being forgiven much as well. My wife knows the depths of Jesus' forgiveness more than most people, enabling her to more easily live out a life of passionate love for her Savior. A woman or man's past sexual sin matters. But what matters far more when it comes to deciding who to marry is if the person is truly born again, if their repentance is real, if they truly have a heart for Christ, if they truly follow Jesus and obey his commands. "God has chosen what is foolish in the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen what is weak in the world to shame the strong. God has chosen what is insignificant and despised in the world — what is viewed as nothing — to bring to nothing what is viewed as something, so that no one may boast in his presence. It is from him that you are in Christ Jesus, who became wisdom from God for us — our righteousness, sanctification, and redemption, — in order that, as it is written: 'Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.'" (1 Cor. 1:27-31) "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!" (2 Cor. 5:17)

@DerekPederson3 I couldn’t come up with the “TMI meter” turn of phrase, which I’m absolutely stealing btw, but I had the exact same thought. I don’t really need to know this stuff. I also kinda felt like it was needlessly cruel to his wife. But maybe I’m reading too much into this…

@GTRecruitBuzz @kendallbaker What you see is more beneficial is from the perspective of an outsider. Do you want me deciding your wage at work? It’s absurd. A wage is set between free interaction of labor and capital. Third parties have no interest and should fuck off

@kendallbaker It isn't nostalgia. It is recognition that the previous system was better and ultimately more beneficial for athletes for their futures.

“NIL killed Cinderella” is really just nostalgia for a system where players couldn’t get paid and had no mobility. Of course mid-major stars stayed put back then… they had no choice. Now they do… and suddenly March Madness is “ruined”? It’s far more nuanced than that.

@wind_sower

@whatsontapnba Swap Peterson for Boozer Boozer and Acuff are tier 1.1 I think Wilson above Boozer is obvious. The physical limitations with Boozer are so bad that I don’t see how he guards at anything close to above average. Hard to have a big in tier 1 with no possible rim protection

@JamieShaw5 It’s a deep draft so not this year. I think he’s a better prospect than the kids San Antonio took at the top over past two years (Castle and Harper) but AJ is best prospect since Wemby…Prefer Peterson to Boozer by a lot. You could talk me into Acuff over Boozer as well

@thebiggestdog13 @PranavSriraman @bluelemxnade If you watch him it’s clear he’s going to be very good He’s fluid as an athlete with a ridiculously polished shot which he can get off in half a second and has enough length to go from a good highlight defender to a committed shut down wing. Min 4 all star appearances…he’s nice

@PranavSriraman @bluelemxnade He’s had way more subpar performances than good ones in his last 15 or so games. I’m sure he will be okay, but I don’t see why he’s rated so highly.
