yes we know “Ghost” is an alias Simon took up for how he’s “nothing but a ghost” after roba and after his family was murdered in the comics im talking about reboot Ghost here since we know they don’t have the same lore OK ? Ghost is his “im an impenetrable fortress” persona 😢

maybe “Ghost” was there long before Simon even signed the enlistment papers. maybe Ghost was that hollow courage a child pretends to feel when they felt too small in a cruel world. it’s that false bravado needed to face the day when you don’t even feel like breathing anymore.

this is a CPTSD hc. i like portraying Ghost as someone who tries to be smaller than actually is when he’s off-duty and the “Simon” under the mask peeks through the persona; he was taught to be invisible in his own household, and those habits die hard when it meant survival.

Ghost has a slouching problem — not in front of recruits on missions, mind you. but when he’s standing next to Soap or Gaz ? he looks uncomfortably slumped, trying to subconsciously match their eye level. and of course he’s got old man back pain for it.

It’s become worse over time and it genuinely makes me wonder if I work hard enough on her character or if she’ll always be boiled down to “that one brown Bloodborne oc”. Minor vent but I’m exhausted man.
