@maybealienhmm character arc thing. in his head he believed himself to be a man because he was able to protect his family, and in failing it broke him, driving him to alcoholism. but because of adam he realizes that wasnt everything about being a man, and recovers.

@Amybbwsmith what about him? idris elba does a stellar job and he has the most badass fight scenes in the entire movie. this isnt the first time a white character from an old cartoon had a black actor in live action either. nick fury was never a problem with culture war folks before.

@fanservice5800 The execs are apparently why it got made. But it’s the #1 Blu-ray preorder on Amazon right now it might still succeed. But we will never see a sequel in theaters after this

@FardTart did we watch the same movie? there was tons of action and well done fight choreo. there was also like, 2 heart to heart moments and they were both during downtime where there wasnt already action, excluding the scene with adam and his dad, which was an intentional interruption.

@fanservice5800 I wouldn't call it woke but it was long and boring. My kids hated it. Not action packed. Too many pauses in the limited action for heart to heart moments. Lame
