@GarySmithJnr They’ll be thinking exactly the same. I feel over two legs, now we have McGinn & Tielemans back and Ollie scoring we will be just a tadge too strong for them.
@StanCollymore I thought the penalty miss could be very detrimental to Roger’s confidence, but fair play to him to come back and score anyway. That hopefully will do him wonders. And to all the haters Buendia has been brilliant 🤩
HT 3-0
Villa absolutely dominant, expressive, creative, pacey, physical and clinical.
McGinn and Tielemans sublime, the former purring like a Rolls Royce Merlin engine, the latter industrious and the starter of so many good things.
Bologna with Rowe down the left had a littke early momentum that fizzled out but Watkins, Buendia and Rogers scoring is a very, very, very good thing as Villa look like the side who beat all comers for much of the season.
Excellent.
Manchester United are strongly interested in Morgan Rogers.
Although he stayed for only six months at Middlesbrough, he formed a strong relationship with Michael Carrick, who’s looking increasingly likely to get the United job permanently reduced 🔴

@AvfcU Yep agree on Onana as an 8. Personally imo Digne was at 6/6.5. But yep football certainly brings out everyone’s opinions (good & bad) and we can agree to disagree and still stay friendly and respectful. On to Thursday 💜💙
@faonamission I thought he was terrible Jon. Funny how people see the game differently - I actually agree on Onana, thought back a lot and he was very good, should be on an 8 probably
@Dibutops1874@CraigSkellorn@StanCollymore Because it takes little or no effort to get a ball into the back of a football net from 8 yards!! Plus there are plenty of city & arsenal players who have played just as many minutes and look sharper!! If you’re tired sit at home or go to bed!!
Rogers watch.
If Villa had a top 4 squad size and depth, Rogers would probably now get an extended rest.
As I said after Bologna, he's played a lot of football (first English player to hit 100 games since start of last season) so let's give him a healthy dollop of benefit of the doubt and put recent form in the "he's fatigued" category.
Whether we can take him out of the team is debatable but everything about his form says he should have spell on the bench.
@avfc_stef 100% this👆🏻I was fuming at the time and still am. He’s so lethargic in possession, just like Bailey when he came on against Bologna. Both need the Ferguson hair-dryer treatment!!
@ekonsa15@CraigSkellorn@StanCollymore Buendia just for effort alone, imo should have replaced Roger’s at HT imo. As I expect Roger’s will start again Thursday
@CraigSkellorn@StanCollymore He’s making the connection between being fatigued and that causing a poor performance. Part of his job is to score and create. Being tired is no excuse for missing glaring chances. That’s my point. We all have an opinion, that’s mine. You don’t have to agree
@faonamission@StanCollymore Everything Stan said was correct. He didn't make a comment about the finish. It's clear he's tired but we don't have another option
@SmithLovelace@GarySmithJnr@avfcdiggy I think that we actually do have players who can provide the service, but Unai or the players play this slow, slow tempo that allow sides to defend in numbers and close the space down. Increase the tempo and pass and move we create, and cause problems. Ditch the slow style!!
@GarySmithJnr@avfcdiggy Watkins is a batter striker. And doesn’t get great service so what makes you think Tammy would get the service he needs. We need to invest heavily in areas to supply our attack.
