Meet the Team. Artist 304 – @fardee86 🇸🇴 Fardosa Hussein is a visual artist and photojournalist based in Mogadishu, Somalia. Her work centres on the lives of Somali women, capturing intimate, candid moments that celebrate their strength, resilience, and everyday realities. Through deeply personal imagery, she creates narratives that are both rooted in her community and universally relatable. For over eight years, Fardosa has documented stories around nutrition, health, food security, peace, and security in Somalia. Beginning her journey photographing on the streets, she faced resistance as a woman pursuing a creative path, but transformed that experience into motivation to empower herself and those around her. As a documentary photographer, her work challenges simplified portrayals of Somalia, moving beyond headlines of conflict and crisis to reveal daily life, joy, and dignity. Whether covering humanitarian issues or moments of ordinary beauty, Fardosa’s images offer a more nuanced and human perspective of her country. #Project195 #13AM #GlobalCreativity #art #travel #startup
