@FarmerRyanIL They ought to be focused on why health insurance costs $1800 (bc gov is involved) and how to fix it instead of just subsidizing it
English

This is not trump this is the ACA and its subsides all only voted on by democrats!” And passed only by them
Sen. Tammy Baldwin@SenatorBaldwin
This is the price hike that a father from Neenah will have to pay next year if Republicans keep going down this path and refuse to act. This is what thousands of Wisconsinites are bracing for.

@NickHorob No idea. We are a long way from any meaningful NG fields. NW Indiana
English

@farming46392 That's awesome. Which field is this natural gas coming from?
English

Here is Pioneer Generation Station Phase IV that went online on September. 580 MW of power in what is the largest power plant in North Dakota since the 1980’s.
This would power almost 4 of Elon Musk‘s Colossus 1 data center in Memphis.
There’s another power plant in the same county (Williams) that is coming online in 2030 that is 2.6x the size of this one.

English

@NickHorob Natural gas. And they are already building a “peaker” NG unit across the road which is 400MW because solar panels don’t make energy at night.
English

@clintwfischer But did the neighbors actually sign up? Lots of unethical tactics being used here by solar co land agents to pressure landowners, especially elderly widows, into signing up. It’s sickening
English

What would you do if you're in this guy's shoes:
Farmer in his mid 60s. Two kids, neither coming back to farm.
Company is rounding up acres for a solar farm.
Offer him $1,400/acre for 25 years on 160 acres across the road from his house.
He's well aware of the lease risks and doesn't like solar farms any more than you do.
But, the neighbor who owns three adjacent quarters already signed up with the Solar Co.
So, likely he'll have panels to look at in a few years regardless if he signs up or not.
Plus, he and his wife have been kicking around the idea of retirement and moving to the lake house anyway...
Take the money, retire, and invest elsewhere?
Or sit this phase out and see what happens?
*For context, it's about $300/ acre cash rent ground.
Seems like they're making these $$ offers almost too good to turn down.
English

@AaronBobeck I think China has manufacturing capability to make good parts, the problem is companies only go there to make cheap parts. So they make what their customer wants- cheap low spec parts.
English

@RepMaryMiller I agree. End federal funding for solar on farmland!
English

@montysmemos Heard a story here of a guy that installed tile in the 30’s by hand. He was paid 10 cents a rod.
English

@farming46392 Engine light on for the last 600,000 or so? I’ve owned lots of GM trucks.
