Too soon. A political class and civil service that grew up in the EU never had to learn how to run a country as most trade policy decisions had been outsourced to Brussels. We need a new generation of politicians who can actually run things. That takes time.

✅ @Simon_Nixon is of course 💯 right, the case for rejoining the EU is now totally overwhelming. 10 years after Brexit, we have lower growth, higher costs, political marginalisation, and a country limping from crisis to crisis. Even Philip Rycroft, who ran the Brexit Department, now says none of the promises materialised and the argument for rejoining “is there to be won”. For British farming and food security the failure is stark: input costs exploding, SPS reset stuck in slow motion, US deals creating divergence from EU rules, and no coherent domestic production policy. We cannot afford more drift and denial. Food security is national security. Britain needs to face reality and have the honest conversation about our future in Europe.
