Please don't do this ever. Bricks are high in heavy metals like arsenic, cadmium, chromium, lead, nickel, copper, zinc, barium, antimony, selenium, molybdenum, silver, and beryllium. They might leech in your food.

My wife & I decided to have/prepare one meal a day without using LPG.
If every family did that, we can reduce Indian household consumption by 1/3rd.

30 years back - there were no gas cylinders , and we all did fine .
Alternatives are definitely there . But I agree that LPG has eased the burden of many families .

LPG is easily bottled and transported to remote areas and it is low cost compare to Whatever you have mentioned solar, Gobargas, Biogas these are not practical or feasible for large population. Solar battery itself will cost more than subsidised gas. Only way is to diversify gas import from other countries instead of Middle East. Currently we are importing only .6% from Australia which is higher importer of gas in the world. We need to well diversify the import of gas.

Everyone in India knows Trump admin makes far-fetched statements to show they are in control and "winning." There's no need for India to respond to all these silly statements everyday wasting time to "show we are in control." Only weak people will want India to do that, not patriotic Indians who are confident about themselves and their country.
India didn't care about this permission ever. Russian oil flowed into India even under US sanctions and objections before. So let's appreciate the GoI for such strong decisions in national interest previously that kept oil manageable during big world wide conflicts.
This statement by US is for their own domestic audience because news reports were out India was increasing Russian oil - which it was still buying even in February. India does not need to respond to these silly claims like some weak people would like.
