A 20-year-old man from Texas, Daniel Moreno-Gama, has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly throwing a Molotov cocktail at OpenAI CEO Sam Altman's home in San Francisco last Friday. The device started a small fire at the driveway gate around 3:37 a.m., but no one was hurt. He then went to OpenAI headquarters, threw a chair at the doors, and threatened to burn the building and kill everyone inside before being arrested. Prosecutors say he acted out of hatred for AI and planned to kill Altman. A document found on him titled "Your Last Warning" claimed he tried to kill the OpenAI CEO and listed other AI executives as targets, warning of humanity's "impending extinction" from the technology. He faces state attempted murder charges and federal explosives and firearms charges. The FBI called the attack planned and targeted.
