A completed Portal fan remake is stuck in limbo because Valve stopped respond to devs Portal: Alive & Kicking was developed with Valve’s approval and received access to Portal 2’s source code, a rare privilege for a fan project. The team says it still can’t be released because Valve hasn’t responded to the final paperwork needed to publish it on Steam. The developers submitted the required non-commercial license months ago and have waited ever since. Because the project uses Valve’s proprietary source code and is covered by an NDA, they can’t upload it elsewhere while waiting.
