@ProjectAncap @sigmahamster2 neo Marxism is a weird rape baby gramsci made nobody with a functional brain even thinks about
English

@sigmahamster2 Marx even predicted this btw, he specifically feared this was going to happen, and he hated the concept of "neo-marxists"
English

I like how Marx spent pages & pages trying to build a 'scientific' theory of exploitation, in which workers produce surplus value for the capitalist class; meanwhile, Twitter pseudo-Marxists genuinely don't care, they'll throw out 20 misleading inequality statistics, call it exploitation & run a victory lap.

calico calypso :)@siniswin1
@sigmahamster2 I don’t need capitalism to look bad it’s exploitation of workers does that for me the bottom 50% of Americans own 2.5% of the wealth vs the top 1% own 30.2% If you think that’s just and fair I’m not gonna argue with you paying people enough to live is not crazy
English

@KellMorrHK @sigmahamster2 my argument was never about use values being the same but alas I'd hope better from you this poor display of stv. utility is subjective? yeah I've been saying this value isn't because im saying there a distinction between the two @grok might be of help you seen to be not grasping
English

Qorth is based on value. But nice try uneducated clown.
Use-value already destroys MTV. Use...or utility is subjective and differs from human to human. There is no objective use value.
OK we are done here.
You cannot explain how water has a higher value than a diamond on an deserted island without other people or money
English

@KellMorrHK @sigmahamster2 use value(or utility)= the usefulness of a thing in satisfying a human need or want. in this case I'd premuse water but it's subjective
value = the social form that products acquire under generalized commodity exchange (this doesn't exist in a Crusoe economy)
English

You simply cannot explain why water is worth more than a diamond on a deserted desert island, where there is no other people and no money.
The fact you cannot explain that paradox means that MTV is busted.
Value is subjective and STV explains the above scenario with NO problem.
Water is worth more in that situation because it sustains life and that is worth more than money or a diamond or a feather chair because Life is a higher-order priority than sitting comfortably or wearing a diamond...this subjective rank-ordering of value destroys MTV and LTV
English

@KellMorrHK @sigmahamster2 if you're not going to eviquote on worth and value, Id say worth is subjective in fact Marx's says this in the first chapter of capital
"A use-value is an object outside us, a thing that by its properties satisfies human wants of some sort or another." water has a higher worth
English

@favory358656 @sigmahamster2 So why is water worth more a deserted island than a diamond is? Despite there being no other people and no money.
Do you understand basic economic first principles?
English

@KellMorrHK @sigmahamster2 econ 101 doesn't really talk about value, different schools have different takes the sraffians found their own theory of value most people don't bother with theories of value
English

@favory358656 @sigmahamster2 Guy can’t refute basic econ 101 fact….value is subjective.
Your value of things is not value.
English

@KellMorrHK @sigmahamster2 you're eviquoting and value and presumabing you're one to be true I think utility plays a role in value in so far as it's required for it but I do not think utility is value. just stating utility exists separate to value isn't a issue for the mtv'er unless you've got a argument
English

@favory358656 @sigmahamster2 You admitted that value preexists money when you invoked utility and marx.
But nice try
English

@KellMorrHK @sigmahamster2 im not sure how exactly we got the inference that MTV is false from this maybe like you're making a faulty inference from what I said or you can tell me how the crusoe economy entails mtv false
English

@favory358656 @sigmahamster2 So you’re agreeing with me that mtv is busted
thanks.
English

@KellMorrHK @sigmahamster2 value would be historically specific social form that presupposes generalized commodity production, exchange, and the reduction of concrete labours to socially validated abstract labour so no there isn't value
English

You wash up on an island. You're alone. No money.
Do things have value?
What things on that island would have more value than others: water, food, shelter, fire....a hand-fashioned spear....all maybe in that order? But maybe not....maybe you are more hungry than thirsty? How you would rank-order the importance of those resources that you need or want, and where to put your scarce resource (labour) into getting them is a subjective determination of value....devoid of money and/or any social relations.
Bro....go get a a basic econ book. Money does not give things value....it is a store of value, a unit account, a medium of exchange, but it does not determine value...you do. And without others or money...you would still make subjective rank-order value determinations that would determine how you act.

cdn.mises.org/Human%20Action…

English

@KellMorrHK @sigmahamster2 (2) you dont understand Rubin, Heinrich or Marx depending on how you interpret him. mtv would say value exists only within the social relations of generalized commodity exchange. labor is necessary for value but it only becomes value producing as socially validated abstract labor
English

@favory358656 @sigmahamster2 Read the Austrians, nothing those knuckleheads have written addresses their fatal critique of LTV.
1) Value is subjective
2) labour is not the only fount of value creation (surplus value)
Proven so many times and in so many ways.
