This is my grandmother Amelia. She recently made this blanket, and I told her I would show it here in the group and that it would be a big hit. She loved the idea.
Calling all authors! We're currently looking for stories set in August onwards for our weekly, and from late autumn onwards for our Specials. We're also now ready to read Advent and Christmas stories to feature across all 'Friend' publications. All genres and word counts!
I have a short story in the latest issue of @TheFriendMag, published today. It’s in their ‘Round the World’ fiction minimag and features two friends backpacking around Australia. Things are about to go awry…
I wish I could send my grateful thanks individually to everyone who has wished me a Happy 80th birthday!! Truly wonderful of you ALL . THANK YOU SO MUCH 🙏😊
#Tuesdaywritinghour Q3 Do you compare the magazine version of your stories with your originals? Have you noticed any changes which TPF always make? Are you confident that you know their house style and can get it right or are you happy to let them sort things out?
@HYuretich Thanks for asking, Helen. It's been a lot of hard work and it depends on how you look at it, but I have had some successes over the years. Short stories have been the hardest, especially as it's difficult to find new markets, but I did have 9 short stories published in The Lady.
