✝️ THE EPICLESIS: THE MOMENT HEAVEN TOUCHES THE ALTAR The Eucharistic Prayer begins. The priest speaks. The Church listens. Then comes a sacred moment. The priest stretches his hands over the bread and wine and prays: “Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray, by sending down your Spirit upon them like the dewfall…” This moment is called the Epiclesis. The word comes from the Greek epiklesis, meaning “invocation” or “calling down.” It is the prayer in which the Church asks the Father to send the Holy Spirit upon the gifts so they may become the Body and Blood of Christ. It is one of the deepest moments of the Mass. ✝️ WHY IS IT SO IMPORTANT? Because the Epiclesis marks the shift from human offering to divine action. Before it, bread and wine are placed on the altar by human hands. After it, the priest speaks in the Person of Christ: “This is My Body… This is My Blood.” The Holy Spirit is invoked to accomplish what human beings cannot. The Catechism teaches: “The Epiclesis is the prayer that asks the Father to send the Holy Spirit so that the offerings may become the Body and Blood of Christ.” (CCC 1353) ✝️ THE HOLY SPIRIT AND THE EUCHARIST The Epiclesis echoes the mystery of the Incarnation. At the Annunciation, the angel told Mary: “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you.” (Luke 1:35) Just as the Holy Spirit overshadowed Mary and Christ became present in her womb, the Spirit now overshadows the altar so Christ becomes sacramentally present in the Eucharist. The same Spirit. The same Christ. A different mystery of presence. ✝️ THE EPICLESIS ALSO TRANSFORMS US The Holy Spirit is not invoked only upon the bread and wine, but also upon the faithful. The Spirit who changes the gifts is meant to change our hearts too. At Mass, we do not simply watch a miracle. We are drawn into it. The bread becomes the Body of Christ — and we are called to become the Body of Christ in the world. ✝️ EAST AND WEST In the Eastern Churches, the Epiclesis is especially emphasized, often with deep bows and repeated invocations of the Holy Spirit. The Latin Church teaches that the consecration occurs through the Words of Institution, but always in union with the Holy Spirit invoked in the Epiclesis. The Spirit and the Words of Christ are never separated. ✝️ WHAT SHOULD YOU DO DURING THE EPICLESIS? When the priest extends his hands over the gifts, do not let your mind wander. This is the moment the Church calls upon heaven. Silently pray: “Come, Holy Spirit. Transform these gifts. Transform me too.” Because the same Spirit who overshadowed Mary is still descending upon the altar today. And that changes everything. Go to Mass as often as you can.

🚨 HEGSETH SHUTS DOWN THE CLUELESS REPORTER: TMZ’s Charlie Cotton asked Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth if he’d change the Department of Defense to the “Department of Peace.” Hegseth’s perfect response: “We changed it to the Department of War because we want to be proactive about peace through strength. When you fight a war the right way, you bring about real peace on the other side.” He added: The U.S. military should win the Nobel Peace Prize every single year — because they’re the greatest guarantor of safety and security in the world.

In 2017, 20-year-old James Alex Fields attended the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville. As he tried to leave the event, a mob of violent Antifa degenerates swarmed his car on Fourth Street. The street closed in around him. In fear for his life, instinct overtook hesitation. He accelerated and struck an obese rioter, killing her. The ADL and SPLC vilified him relentlessly, pressing for the death penalty and going so far as to speciously link the incident to “terror attacks on Israel.” His trial was a mockery, a political lynching; he was condemned to two life sentences without the possibility of parole, and an additional 419 years! What was clearly self-defense was transformed into a Stalinist show trial. James’s punishment was dictated by politics and symbolism rather than “justice.” It was intended as a warning to Whites, especially young White men, that any assertion of their group’s distinct collective interests will not be tolerated by the state. That this young man remains in prison today is a national disgrace and a travesty of justice. Pardon James Alex Fields.

AOC making fun of Rubio: "My favorite part is she he said cowboys are rooted in Spain. Uhhh, speak to Mexicans & African slaves!" FACT CHECK: Cowboys trace their roots to Spanish cattle herders. Spain brought the tradition to Mexico, where it evolved into the vaquero system, later moving north into Texas and the American West which later became the American cowboy.
