@RobyPoto You seriously think Xavi and Iniesta stopped playing for Barca because they simply wanted to???

People forget Xavi, Iniesta & Fabregas dominated an old men’s position as soon as they debuted and discredit their longevity because they didn’t want to play until their late 30’s like Modric & co. Their longevity is still the most underrated aspect of their game.

@BiasedSlightly Most strategic/suspicious rebuild of all time. From moving on Murray the summer before Wemby coming out, to getting the no1 pick and drafting a guy who played for a team owned by Tony Parker, not to mention the multiple top 5 picks after that. It’s literally video game stuff.

@CDLHater Ironically, Aches probably has the best eye for talent in COD history, but the constant engagement farming is boring.

Ache's says OpTic STRUGGLE to face adversity 👀😳 "I mean kinda crazy, they don't 'lag' & they win, played 11 & they lag only in 'that one', kind crazy" "They played vs a team who wanted a tactical loss today, yesterday both teams lagged but OpTic can't face adversity that's what I heard" 🗣️🤯

Frances Tiafoe defeats the defending champ Jakub Mensik 7-6(4), 4-6, 7-6(11) to reach the last 16 in Miami for the first time since 2022. Saved two MP in the epic 3rd set tiebreak. Mensik will leave the top 25 after dropping 950 points.

Others not saying it, I will just go ahead and say it. I think Ugarte has given up on United. Just didn’t like the way he played last game when he subbed on. It was like he wasn’t understanding the situation and playing however he liked. United should have signed a midfielder in January. Utterly irresponsible not to get a midfielder.

@ftblnatt @Vaenced Also think the language barrier and overall communication was a big problem, which ironically is something Tottenham got right in a managerial process. Someone can have the cure to cancer but if nobody really understands him then it’s useless.

@Vaenced There's a reason why our former analyst Tom Green who worked with a lot of managers said he learned loads from Erik tactically. Execution might've been inconsistent due to personnel but the ideas were simply brilliant and somewhat creative.

"I wasn't a player long under Erik ten Hag but of course you experience a little bit of his ideas." -Fabian Hürzeler This approach to solve build up with timely movements diagonally stepping across into the space ahead to bypass 1st line of pressure is executed uniquely by few.

@DevilTalkMUFC Really don’t get the Amrabat hate. Came in on loan (not even permanent transfer), was played out of position damn near every game expect the FA cup final where he was arguably MOTM.

@saturnixe Yep. Him and Mainoo as the ball carrying midfielder with hopefully an anchor next to them (Anderson) would be perfect. Obviously it’s unrealistic at this moment though

I’m not sure it’s possible as he’s too good to not force his way into their midfield eventually, but if there’s even the slightest hint he’s unhappy with his minutes at Arsenal, I’d take him over any other midfielder on the market

My take on the Premier League is pretty clear. I think it has the highest floor of any league in the world, but not the highest ceiling. Moreover, the new physical OOP-oriented ‘meta’ seems to be forcing sides down a path that just isn’t likely to be very successful in Europe. What they’ve got is a bunch of teams who are undoubtedly difficult to beat, but that simultaneously lack the capacity to be the protagonists - which historically doesn’t bode well in Europe. Quite done with all the banter because, frankly, it’s getting really silly and I don’t want to indulge. I’m mostly just curious to see how, or if, the PL evolves/compromises to become even more equipped. Or contrarily, whether the ‘culture’ prevents it.

@NealGardner_ That highest floor is due to their flexible FFP rules, no salary caps and no restrictions on owner cash injections into their clubs. There's NOTHING organic about the Premier league. Just a sport washing league

Carlos Alcaraz was asked how difficult it is to accept when players play above their normal level against him, ‘It’s a bit annoying’ 😂 “When you’re facing opponents who are obviously playing way above their normal level, how challenging is it to accept that and keep on finding a way through?” Carlos: “Well, it’s not really good to be honest. It’s a bit annoying 😂. But you know, you have to accept it. You have to keep it going and try your best. I have a lot of weapons. I have a lot of things I can do on the court, trying to make him uncomfortable. Today to be honest, I couldn’t find that way. But I know from now on they’re going to play like that. I’ve gotta be ready. Even though he was playing, I would say, above his normal level, I was there. A lot of 30-30. A lot of 40-40. A lot of break points. I didn’t make it but I just gotta see that point of view and just for the next matches, to think like they’re gonna play like that, and I’m gonna have my chances. I will try to play better on those moments and those points. I’ll try not to let them stay on the match. I will try to push them to the limit even more.” (via Miami Open Press)

I really think Rice is an excellent player, but Arsenal aren’t winning a title off standout players. It’s a strong collective of system players being fully committed to a horrible brand of effective football. Admirable in some ways but nobody is deserving of player of the year.
