We sheared the rams last night. Checked them this morning, all good. I had to pop down to our allotments this afternoon before shearing had finished and found our young Suffolk ram had died. Birds had his eyes already. I’m heartbroken. It’s feels like the one death too many.

4wks ago, on the eve of my Op, I was saying that I was more worried about this Op than the first. I was seriously thinking about putting it off. In hindsight I should have done so. I am now in a much worse state than I was before. I feel I’m getting worse rather than better.

@mikegallacher1 Delighted to hear this . All rather belated , you should have had morphine and care package arranged before you left hospital. Hope help arrives now , occupational therapists should provide grab rails etc as well.

A productive visit to my GP this morning. I’ve known him for 10+ years and never seen him so animated. Horrified about what happened and how I’ve been treated and sent home with no support from Physio or anybody else. Reviewed meds, I now have morphine tabs twice a day.

Congrats to the Lib Dems & Tories for privatising Royal Mail leading to first class stamp price rising from 60p (2013) to £1.80 today. A price rise of 200% in 13 years. Privatisation of essentials really pays for shareholders & senior managers not the public.

Neep the Sheep, son of Turnip and owner of a teaspoon-sized brain, is now under maximum security in the glamping paddock. On Friday I put a new extra thick chain on his gate. Neep spent two full days staring at it, thinking very hard. By day three he decided subtlety was for cowards, charged the hedge, blasted a Neep-shaped hole and gallumphed down the road in triumph. Wilbur and Thrusty Clappernuts followed. (Thrusty, an elderly gentleman got tired halfway through the jailbreak celebrations and fell asleep in the middle of the road. On a blind corner.) I tracked them by following a trail of mud and sheep poo, found Thrusty impersonating a traffic bollard, Wilbur standing guard in the ditch, and Neep casually eating someone’s bedding plants. So now they’re in the glamping paddock, which has high stone walls, an outdoor library, tents and children’s toys. We are hoping this will keep Neep’s ADHD brain busy while we remortgage ourselves to re-fence the farm.

Turnip is in very early labour and just wants a bit of reassurance. I've bottle fed her from a newborn so I think she sees me as her mum. I'll let you know how she gets on. She's scanned for twins and she's the size and width of a coffee table. ❤️

Despite taking the maximum amount of prescribed painkillers I am still waking after a couple of hours, in pain. When in hospital I was having a couple of does of Oramorph to get me through the night. It is bloody hard work.

@asiapac001 All good, staples removed, just a couple of painful ones, wound is clean, dry, and free from signs of infection. A clean dressing put on, which I can take off in 3 days. The leg feels much better as the tautness from the dressing has now gone. I'm shattered and going for a nap!
