Last week, I had the pleasure of celebrating Canada Day with our community at, and it was a wonderful reminder of what makes our country so special. Seeing families, friends, and neighbours come together to celebrate our shared values, our freedoms, and the incredible country we call home filled me with so much pride. Canada is more than a place, it's a community built on kindness, service, and people who look out for one another. Thank you to everyone who made the celebrations so memorable. I had the privilege of celebrating the 100th birthday of Newmarket–Aurora veteran Jeffrey Reynolds, and it was an incredibly special and humbling experience. At just 18 years old, Jeff answered the call to serve when freedom was on the line. Like so many of his generation, he rarely speaks about his sacrifices, but his life tells a remarkable story of courage, service, and resilience that helped build the Canada we know today. A century later, seeing him surrounded by so much love and appreciation was truly moving. Our community came together to celebrate not only an extraordinary milestone, but a man whose service and character continue to inspire all of us. The respect, gratitude, and warmth in the room were a beautiful reminder that true heroes are never forgotten. It was an honour to celebrate a lifetime of service and sacrifice.
