@doclauravater So important for us to grieve these losses and celebrate the lives of those who entrust us with their care. And yet a colleague recently shared that she had been criticized for attending the funeral of a beloved patient, @doclauravater . That upsets me.

Had a goodbye call with a patient on hospice today. You wouldn’t guess it, but these calls are filled with both tears and laughter. It reminds me what a gift it is to be invited so intimately into other peoples’ lives.
