We need to stop attacking people based on criteria that don't matter. Which means we need to define what does. My book, How To Be Free (link in bio) is short, in plain English, and lays out five values by which to define our friends and goals. Zack passes the test. #BackZack

Mick Lynch "Zack Polanski isn't inciting hatred for Jews he believes he is an agent of peace and that Israel is carrying out Mass Murder in Gaza and the West Bank, and I believe that too." When Mick Lynch speaks sense, he speaks sense.

The only reason the British establishment is smearing Polanski is because he's offering Brits their country back from the grips of the cleptocratic, nepotistic, corporate thieves, and monopolists that neoliberalism has put in charge.
Owen Jones@owenjonesjourno

This interview contains a straightforward lie: “His very first instinct after two Jewish men were stabbed this week was to repost a tweet attacking the arresting officers.” He’d condemned the attack in his own words several hours before the retweet?

Having watched this back a few times today now the initial shock is over, it's clear the Met are extremely sensitive to even the suggestion of excessive force being used, because they know how bad this footage is going to look when properly scrutinised.

We must stand with @ZackPolanski at this critical moment. The Establishment and their minions are telling us to reject the evidence of our eyes and ears.

A retweet by Zack Polanski is now the main story across every single media outlet. Two days ago, it was revealed that Nigel Farage failed to disclose a £5 million gift from a crypto-billionaire. It gets nowhere near the media attention, for straightforward political reasons.

Studies have shown that the Kaitz index can reach as high as 80% without a pronounced disemployment effect. Current median wage is £19.67/h, meaning the labour market can absorb a minimum age potentially as high as £15.73
D@_Unknown_D_

My question in regards to the Green Party pledge to raise the minimum wage to £15 is why stop at £15? If it holds true that all we need to do to improve living standards is just increase the minimum wage then why not make it £20, £30 or £40. Whats the economics behind £15?

Heard very similar stuff from a former headteacher at the weekend. Predictable, and mad, but if you’re part of the liberal-managerial class that flourished under New Labour you probably still love Starmer & can’t understand why anyone wouldn’t
The New Statesman@NewStatesman

Mark Gatiss: "I don't understand the antipathy towards Keir Starmer" The actor – currently starring in a play lampooning fascism – argues that the PM is doing a good job, but from the press he gets "you'd think he was Vlad the Impaler". Listen on the New Society podcast.

Jeremy Corbyn and Zarah Sultana have joined Greta Thunberg and author Sally Rooney in calling for a Palestine activist to be released on bail so they can campaign for election. Amu Gib was arrested in July 2025 by counter-terrorism police after allegedly breaking into Britain’s largest RAF base and spray-painting two military planes. The former community support worker, who led a 49-day hunger strike at HMP Bronzefield in November last year, is running for a seat on Islington Council in May’s local elections. A letter on the Protest is not Terrorism website appeals for the judge to grant bail to Gib ahead of a hearing at the Old Bailey on 1 May. "Amu’s continued detention is not only illogical and unjust, it is obstructing their ability to exercise their democratic rights,” stated the letter, which is also backed by the Green party’s Mothin Ali and dozens of Independent and Green candidates and councillors. “They should be on the streets of Finsbury Park, talking to voters and spreading the word about their campaign pledges to fight for welfare not warfare, homes with dignity and empowerment for young people." Gerry Carroll, MLA for West Belfast, also commented on the case, describing Gib as “exactly the kind of fighter communities need on Islington Council.” Carroll added: “The British state has done everything in its power to silence Amu, including imprisonment beyond the normal legal limits, but none of it has worked. “A vote for Amu is proof that solidarity cannot be caged."

If we have to ration jet fuel, can business travel be replaced with online tools? Flights for business purposes fell by 29% between 2019 and 2023. Flying for business is less and less essential: our research in last week's @macrodosepod Find out more: neweconomics.org/2024/05/demand…

Want to understand the wretched factionalism of the McSweeney/ Labour Together project? Watch this interview. Ed Balls practically vibrating as he "interviews" a proper progressive. The anger at being called out is mad. I've met and spoken to hundreds of current and former Labour members taking my book on tour. They all have stories of the guy in their branch acting like Ed Balls here. The patronising contempt that curdles into spit-flecked anger. It's part of why so many people have left the Labour Party, and why so many people are looking for a different political culture elsewhere. The McSweeney project was about ensuring that this type of man - and it was always men - took back control of the Labour Party.
Saul Staniforth@SaulStaniforth

Well done to @ZackPolanski for calling out the fact he was being interviewed by a former Lab minister & husband of the current foreign secretary! Since the start of this year #GMB is produced by @itvnews. How can they think this is tenable? Oh & Ed took it in good grace (not)
