@featherhates I mean, ahead of the supercell, it wasn't entirely atrocious. KLZK's observed sounding appeared to be on the other side of the stationary front that was over the region, hence the strange low-level thermos. A RAP reanalysis sounding south of the boundary paints a better picture.

While the general environment was very conducive for violent tornadoes, potent cell mergers appear to be the main driver for the violent tornadogensis that occurred within this supercell. Nixon et al. (2024) and Broyles et al. (2022) show this very well. Visual per Broyles et al.
