@RicardoRKaram It’s heartbreaking to live or witness such a tragedy and may Allah bestow his mercy on the parents and family to withstand such pain. We celebrate the shining part of ourselves outwards. We seldom have tools to explore inwards and embrace our dark sides and love it all.

Yesterday, I went to see my friend Charbel Habib (not to console him, because there is no consolation for this, but because presence is all that remains), a father who has just lost Mathias, his 15-year-old son. There are no words for that. None. He made me sit next to him. He spoke. He cried. He repeated himself. And I listened, or at least tried to. Because the truth is, I was shattered. Like everyone else. This boy lacked nothing. Nothing. A loving family. A present father and mother. Faith. Education. Friends. A life many would describe as complete. And yet, he ended his own life. I hesitated before sharing this. But some stories are too important to remain private, because they concern all of us, as parents, as human beings. Please read the article below.
