When I told my daughter that I had to go back to work this week after my spring break, she asked if I was "giving a lecture or getting lectured"? And this just about sums up my academic experience...

America’s military edge has never just been hardware. It has been lieutenants and majors who spend a year at places like Harvard, arguing deterrence and civil-military relations around a cramped seminar table, then bring that knowledge back to the planning cell. Pete Hegseth’s move to cut all Pentagon ties with Harvard is not a strike against “globalist ideology.” It is a self-own that narrows the pipeline of officers who can outthink our adversaries as well as outshoot them. Those programs did not exist to flatter Cambridge. They existed so the captain from Fort Hood could spar with economists, historians, and legal scholars and come home sharper. Killing that off does not protect the warrior class. It isolates it. A confident republic sends its best to study with the best, then expects them to argue, adapt, and push back. Resentment is a poor substitute for readiness.
