@RestIsPolitics @RoryStewartUK @campbellclaret Plenty of questions but to start with can @RoryStewartUK please stop asking what peoples’ fathers did and not what their mothers did. Latest example Peter Malinauskas. Rory, you are in danger of being known as the former member for the 19th century.

Daniel is 18 years old Sunday. A gentler soul you will never meet. He has no friends as he won’t leave home and can’t work. Autism does that to you. Please wish him a happy birthday and RT everywhere . ❤️#happybirthdaydaniel

@RestIsPolitics Been banned in Australia for ages and it’s so much better that way.

Where do you stand on banning smoking in outdoor spaces like pub gardens?

"We've got to take action to reduce the burden on the NHS". Earlier today Prime Minister Kier Starmer refused to deny reports his government is considering banning smoking in some outdoor spaces like pub gardens. Read more: trib.al/7jRaDZW

It is a great shame that @GBNEWS was not called by Sir Keir Starmer at his press conference in Number 10 today. We had a reporter there. The questioners are selected in advance by his team. We were not.

Opinion: The worst feature of Trump is his vulgarity. But to claim he’s a threat to democracy, is a fascist and hates women (really?) is just ridiculous partisan rhetoric: bit.ly/3SvxJT1

@RoryStewartUK Rory I don’t understand your enthusiasm for open contests after Johnson and Truss. No guarantee this would have a better outcome, and why would they give the successful candidate even less time to win the bigger campaign?
English

BREAKING: Am being leaked all the campaign director morning notes from Tory HQ now … here is today’s …
we will be fielding C Heaton-Harris on the media this morning. You will know he is not standing but as with M Gove we think this helps us. These departing MPs are able to put a bit of distance from the campaign and when asked to comment eg on betting scandals, unravelling tax lies and the like, they can say it is not a matter for them. But they can then pivot to our line of the day which is that Starmer will take UK back into EU. We need to be careful however, as there is a danger this will make Starmer more popular. So we need to issue the warning gently, especially in Lib Dem areas. Please don’t leak but the Chancellor called the PM yesterday furious at his “Brexit is great”’tweet (overnight focus groups suggest JH has a point but let’s double down to show confidence in our strategy. Tomorrow Sir Gavin Williamson will be main message carrier. Unfortunately most of current cabinet now feel they are in either lost cause seats or marginals so we have to respect their refusal to go out and defend the national campaign. But as you know Gav is a great salesman and we are hoping he can do for Rishi what he once did for fireplaces. No new scandals overnight apart from us using public money to set up party website for candidates. But thankfully there are so many bigger scandals nobody is noticing. And remember … it is no longer about stopping the boats but stopping the votes. STOP THE VOTES. AVOID THE SUPERDEFEAT WE KNOW WE DESERVE. Onwards !!!

@3AWNeilMitchell I don’t know Neil, maybe because it’s not about the length of time they wait?
English

@campbellclaret Omg, she thinks she’s got a chance of being PM again! Surely she should slither off to a quiet life of irrelevance

@pd_19796 @jack_toohey Stalking, abusing and violently attacking women is not a mental illness.
English

@boganintel Sorry, what? Are you seriously arguing that people should have the right to watch a violent stabbing as a measure of freedom of speech? This is nutty.
English

@RoryStewartUK @RestIsPolitics She’s far too important for that!
English

Just come across Liz Truss saying “I hadn’t gone into politics to deal with floods or fix prisons.” Why not? Wouldn’t politics be much better if she felt her job was to fix such things? This is a fundamental problem with our system @RestIsPolitics unherd.com/2024/04/why-li…

@GrogsGamut Uhlmann quoting the pitch Sky made to him in his job interview 😂

Uhlmann: "Sky stands tall in the Australian media landscape. You may not agree with it, but you can’t ignore it.”
Actually yes, most don't agree with but they also very easily ignore it as well.

@campbellclaret It’s pretty good - how many times do you reckon he did that walk to get the take?
English

I mean he is to blame for austerity and for Brexit and a fair bit besides but what Sunak wouldn’t give to be able to deliver a message on the move like this given short media pieces are, after all, pretty much all that Rishi does
