Too much or too little of anything, including empathy, is bad. And keeping balance is hard.

I will never forgive the way so many people have turned on Jews and Israelis over the last few years. Are all Jews or Israelis perfect? Of course not. Some are terrible people, just as there are terrible people in every race, religion, and nationality. But the way Jews have been singled out, demonised, and portrayed as the worst of the worst simply for defending their country is genuinely nauseating. What troubles me most is how quickly it happened. Many of the same people who spoke endlessly about tolerance, diversity, and protecting minorities seemed to abandon those principles the moment Jews were involved. If I meet a Jewish person who dislikes me for whatever reason, I will still defend their right to live in peace and be treated fairly. Principles only mean something when they're applied consistently, not just when it's convenient.

Genuine question, I spotted your credentials. I work in the energy industry and have a question about Net Zero. I have an interest in weather, but I have never looked at long term data. And the discussion seems a bit like politics to me so it doesn't interest me. Net zero now on the left and the flat earthers climate change deniers on the right. -- How does emissions in the atmosphere effect the world and specific countries? Every country should have more renewables as it is free electricity. But China and Germany also use coal which is dirtier than gas - so how does the mix of countries effect global climate change? The UK and Ireland will be reliant on gas for decades to come before Hydrogen is ready. And in my experience - if solar is suppressed and there's no wind then gas will always be needed.
