The F-15E Strike Eagle alone was a $100M loss, but the real damage came during the extraction: an A-10 down ($18.8M), up to two C-130s destroyed ($150–200M), an MH-6 Little Bird gone (~$7.5M), and 1–2 MQ-9 Reapers lost ($30-60M). That’s up to ~$386M in aircraft alone. And that’s just the visible bill. Behind that number was a full-scale operation: CIA locating the pilot in mountainous terrain, real-time intel feeding the Pentagon, dozens of aircraft flying cover, refueling tankers in the air, special operations teams on the ground, and heavy gunfire to keep Iranian forces away during the extraction. This was a multi-layered combat mission inside hostile territory. Currently in a Florida neighborhood with median home price of $600,000. Cars I see in the driveways: -Ford -Kia -Hyundai -Toyota ..Please understand most well off people are not driving luxury cars.
