@BigTecSD Definitely showed their inexperience in the big moment

Why wait for the last shot if you are UCSD? You are down three look for a quick score 2 or 3 and foul to extend the game. That’s on the coach

@alex_westry So proud of my Alma mater. This will be great for recruiting. Future is bright in La Jolla!

@layne_sonntag @swankywolverine That’s a valid point. We struggled with a single 7-footer at UCI, so I’m concerned about how we’ll handle two. I’m hoping we can trade 3-pointers for 2-pointers, as we’ve done this season, which is our path to victory.

@swankywolverine UC San Diego seems to be the trendy pick and you know how those always work out. Our bigs should be able to body them down low. UCSD has no size on their team

@BlueInNC16 @DPHBuckeyes @swankywolverine I appreciate your take. As a UCSD alum I’m pulling for my Tritons, but I’m cognizant of the uphill battle we face. The stars need to align but we’ve got a fighting chance.

@DPHBuckeyes @swankywolverine Michigan should have no problem controlling the paint on both ends of the floor, the concern is turnovers against one of the best turnover forcing teams in the country. Should be fairly easy win, but there’s certainly a path for UCSD

@alex_westry As a primarily academic institution, securing student support for the significant financial investment required to sustain a football team would be difficult, if not impossible.

The question for UCSD is whether there is enough support in San Diego to justify spending the money required to establish a football team with San Diego State in town and we haven’t even gotten to the lack of a viable stadium and football facilities the Tritons would need.

16 schools in the NCAA Tournament do not currently have a Football team. Publicity from a good tourney run could be a great way to raise funds to add one!

@alex_westry Only a small minority have been discussing football since the ’90s when I was there. Convincing the student body to approve the move to Division II and later to Division I was already challenging, as the fees associated with the moves fall to students.
