I get it, because this country has given us so much shit. But we’re never making it out with this mindset.

As a first step, we are launching NaijaCivicTech, an open source platform where Nigerian in tech curate and build tiny tools that solve specific Nigerian problems together this is not a startup, not a pitch deck, just working software in the open, built for Nigeria for ease. The current goal is to achieve two things: 1. Community to curate all existing tools that have attempted to solve a problem but are not well known. 2. Community to suggest problems, tools and project that solves a specific problem It's day 1, let's see how far we can go.

It is the confidence with which Nigerians state rumors that surprises me more than their ignorance. How can one man own 106 houses? A 30-year-old Indian doctor already owns 45 GP practices and many other commercial properties. He used leverage from the UK banking system before the rule changes. That you don't know how things happen doesn't invalidate the truth. Do you know how many of those properties are still mortgaged, with the mortgage payments still being made from the rent? There was an asset-acquisition loophole for rent-to-own properties, and many took advantage of it. The UK government has closed it, and that is why the whole issue of beneficial ownership came up as well. People were using companies owned by trusts to take loans and buy assets to avoid inheritance tax. If the first thing that comes to your mind when you see wealth is fraud, you need to upgrade your worldview.

I doubt there is any 🇳🇬 unicorn that makes $50 million in net income per annum. Then you begin to understand the stock market fright amid a hefty valuation
