The first own paper submission feels like yesterday. On a topic I still think about. Now my publications have crossed a line of an h-index of 100. This is humbling - and interesting, since while I like to be pragmatic and contribute to solving problems to the extent possible, the publications themselves are often quite formal and somewhat tedious.

The geometric mean (T_xT_z)^1/2 is above 1.8ms!

Another experiment from AWS quantum, focused on single-cat performance. We can get a cat qubit with T_x ~ 0.2s and T_z ~ 17us (choosing a mean-photon number of 4).

While naturally there is still a lot of room for performance improvement, the results make me bullish that concatenated cat codes on superconducting devices are a serious contender for developing a fault-tolerant quantum computer. /9
