Michael Phelps is literally referred to as a freak of nature because of his disproportionate wingspan, double jointed ankles, lung capacity twice that of an average human, body that produces half the lactic acid of a typical athlete, and he is rightly celebrated for being the greatest male swimmer in history. Meanwhile, female athletes with genetic differences are legally discriminated against and harassed to no end. This is not about “protecting women in sports” - this is about protecting a very specific idea of what a woman is.

It’s so crazy that they’ve had to post Imane Khelif childhood pictures to prove that she was born a woman because she packed a white woman with one punch in 40 seconds. White women tears ruin lives.

I’ve seen this @MIT student on Jake Tappers show @CNN. Here she’s speaking to the house GOP and was kind enough to give me a personal shout out. I never thought my speech would make it so far, thank you for amplifying my statements (~1:28 mark)! Weird, why am I never invited to share my experience as a Palestinian with the establishment? Why does she feel that her safety and comfort should take priority over mine? She claims Jewish students feel the need to hide their perspectives, yet the Zionists among them have not been shy in their incessant emails to admin, trying to get me fired for speaking my own. She doesn’t seem very intimidated complaining about me and the CAA to the US congress. It’s incredible how frustrated Zionists get when their perceived supremacy is challenged by the tolerance of Palestinian voices on campus. Would it help these students feel less alone if I shared the hundreds of hate messages & threats I’ve received since Oct. 7? Perhaps invite me to speak with them directly in a formal setting, maybe then they might understand that I also just want to do science in peace? Anyway, I don’t know who this is and I’m not too interested either. I just wanted to point out the clear double standards, and express my admiration towards MIT for remaining principled thus far; truly exercising equity and inclusivity. I honestly wasn’t expecting it.

A friend of mine in Jordan was starting her business and gave it to me as a gift. Is it “Tatreez” is it “Sidau” is it “Qashgabia”? It is all and its none. What was fascinating is that people who lived so far apart from each other, whether in Palestine, Arabian desert, African plains, North and south American mountains have so much in common without them knowing. The colors, the designs the vibrant patterns. All these people had that in common thousands of years ago. Maybe its the natural connection with the land. Maybe that’s the language of the indigenous people everywhere: colors, warmth and fabrics made with love. Maybe this is how they connected with the land. with colors, with love with history and memories and roots. Like those roots of the olive trees that stayed there for 600 years. These are not just colors. and Olive trees are not just plants. They are family. And if someone uproots a family member that has been there for 600 years, well they obviously never belonged to that family. I put by monotone colored jacket away and I wore this. May you all feel the love, the belonging and the colors that surrounds us and connect us to the land, the earth, the roots. When someone says to me that I look tired, I feel nothing but shame. This is what tired looks like. I cannot imagine what it’s like to be a doctor or nurse in Gaza under these conditions. Then to find your kids amongst the dead. I’m so sorry. You are our heroes.

400 children. The death toll in Gaza has now surpassed that. And the children are literally being pulled out with their limbs found in different places due to the impact of the blasts. This is not including the overall civilian death toll, the lost homes, the trauma, the starvation, the shut off water and electricity, the destruction of the hospital system, & the erasure of journalists to tell you their story. Let’s agree that the murder of children is always evil no matter who does it. How do you feel knowing that Israel is murdering Palestinian children with full US weaponry and sanction, and the President and your favorite celebrities don’t have a word to say about it. By the way, collective punishment is a war crime by international legal consensus. But so is apartheid and that didn’t seem to matter either.
