Every year my family goes to Mackinac Island. When there, we have to be very mindful of what we throw away because the island doesn't have a landfill and they charge you for the trash you create. This promotes recycling on the island. #apeswaste @franklinlorax

A good way to help minimize the amount of waste in landfills is by composting. You can compost items like banana peels and apple cores!! #apeswaste @franklinlorax

you should always choose to drink out of reusable water bottles instead of plastic ones because a plastic bottle can take up to 1,000 years to completely degrade. by drinking out of reusable water bottles it will reduce the amount of plastic used! #apeswaste @franklinlorax

The atmosphere we live in is the Troposphere. This is where airplanes fly and also where all of our weather occurs! #apesair @franklinlorax

This is photo of my grandmas water machine— H2O, water is apart of the ocean acidification process as it combines with CO2 to form H2CO3 known as carbonic acid!! 🌎💧 @franklinlorax #apesair

we live in the troposphere also called the “bad ozone” because of all the pollutants we produce near the ground. #apesair @franklinlorax

I reduce energy by showering with the lights off because when I am showing with the lights on, it uses more energy. #apesenergy @franklinlorax

Our sunroom has a lot of windows to let in sunlight. When it’s light outside, we can turn the lights off in our house to conserve electricity! #apesenergy @franklinlorax

Smoke stacks like this one produces CO2 emissions, which can be harmful to the environment. There are many alternative types of energy that can be used that do not produce CO2 emissions, such as hydropower. The less emissions the better! #apesenergy @franklinlorax

Downtown Milwaukee has a high population density because many people live in close proximity to one another and it is very crowded. A suburb like Franklin has a lower population density because the houses are more spread out and less people live there. #apesland @franklinlorax

This is an example of a hot spot. This is when a plate is forced under another plate. This forces molten rock through the crust forming volcanoes. This is how the Hawaiian Islands were formed. @franklinlorax #apesland

here’s some printer paper that my family and i use everyday! paper is a huge reason for why humans continue to log and therefore it takes a lot of forestry to sustain the logging business! #apesland @franklinlorax

My ecological footprint would require 4.1 earths to sustain. Something I could do to reduce this number is changing my lightbulbs to LEDs to conserve energy. #apespop @franklinlorax

Right now, it is estimated that if everyone lived like me, we’d need 4.7 planet earths to provide enough resources. This isn’t good. To improve my ecological footprint, I can reduce the amount of water I use. #apespop @franklinlorax

As humans in the United States we use more resources than any other country. One resource we overuse is gas. One way we can reduce this is by using other transportation. Using Bublr bikes in Downtown Milwaukee is one way to do so. #apespop #franklinlorax
