"At the Sunrise Ceremony, I meditate and ask the Great Spirit for direction. My hands fill with electricity. I touch you and you feel it, too. I heal people this way. My Grandmother did that, too. I learned all about that when I was a young fellow We learn to respect the elders who hand on the Law. The elders guard the Law and the Law guards the people. This is the Law that comes from the mountain. The mountain teaches the dreaming." ~ Guboo Ted Thomas,

Chess Grandmaster Anna Muzychuk refuses to play in Saudi Arabia and says: "In a few days, I will lose two world titles, back to back." Because I decided not to go to Saudi Arabia. I refuse to play by special rules, to wear abaya, to be accompanied by a man so I can leave the hotel, so I don't feel like a second class person. "I will follow my principles and not compete in the World Fast Chess and Blitz Championship where in just 5 days I could have won more money than dozens of other tournaments combined." This is all very nasty but the sad part is no one seems to care. Bitter feelings but can't go back. " —Anna Muzychuk

BREAKING: Democratic star Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez obliterates the Republicans' hack witness during a hearing for the sham Biden impeachment inquiry. This is one for the books... "I have a quick question. Simple. Is it your testimony today that you personally witnessed President Joe Biden commit a crime?" AOC asked Tony Bobulinski, a former associate of Hunter Biden who has been doing MAGA's bidding. "I believe the fact that he was sitting with me while I was putting together a business deal..." began Bobulinski. "Did you witness the president commit a crime? Is it your testimony?" interjected AOC. "Yes," said Bobulinski. "And what crime have you witnessed?" asked AOC. "How much time do I have to go through it?" he responded, evading the question. "It is simple: you name the crime," she responded. "Did you watch him steal something?" "Corruption statutes, RICO conspiracy, FARA..." he rambled, without offering any details. "What is the crime sir? Specifically!" she said. "You asked me to answer the question, I answered the question," whined Bobulinski, who had not answered the question. "RICO, you're obviously not familiar with, corruption statutes..." "Excuse me sir! Excuse me sir. Excuse me sir," said AOC. "RICO is not a crime, it is a category. What is the crime?" Bobulinski then whined, rambled, and dissembled without providing a specific crime. As usual, Republicans want to rely on vague assertions to do their dirty PR work. AOC reclaimed her time and then tore into the entire inquiry. "Clearly, what we are seeing here today is a continuation of the fifteen month saga of the Republican majority lost in the desert," said AOC. "Impeachment 101, the majority party or whomever is raising impeachment must accuse the president of a high crime, a specific high crime or misdemeanor." During another stretch of the hearing, AOC voiced the same issue— "At this point, the story isn’t the fact that the basis of this impeachment inquiry is wrong. The story is, ‘Why it is proceeding anyway?’" she asked, pointing out that there are "no charges" on the table. "I have yet to hear in the chairman’s opening the allegation that they are specifically charging the president of the United States with," she went on. "I am hearing about the ‘Biden family.’ I am hearing about this and that. I am not hearing the specific allegation by this committee. What is it? It is not here. And that is the problem." “The story is when this committee knew they were working with falsified evidence? That is the story," she added. Well said congresswoman! This impeachment inquiry is an utter disgrace and a complete waste of taxpayer dollars. All that it proves is that Republicans have nothing to hit President Biden on. The sooner it concludes, the better. Dear trump Republicans: The election was not "stolen." Your guy just sucked. I mean, boy was he BAD. Like, legendarily bad. He lost because he had 7 million fewer votes. He got impeached TWICE. He lost millions of jobs. He mishandled covid. He told people not to vote early. He told people not to use mail-in ballots. He incited a damn insurrection, and then refused to do anything about it for 187 minutes. And that was before he had 91 felony counts. AND found liable for rape. And fraud. So much winning.

The fundamental axiomatic flaw of the “Anti-Woke” mind is that it allows groups with historical power to play the victim by taking anecdotal examples and packaging them into a conjured, conspiratorial ideology that threatens to upend the power structure they have been dependent on. Historically, progress has been made in our democratic society, by those with power and resources innovating in ways that can not only benefit them personally , but also lift and support those who need it most, knowing it will make us all stronger and better able to contribute to improving the standards of living and quality of life in our country Where we are at risk is that we are forgetting how to listen and accept who and what we may disagree with. It’s easy for us to tweet. It’s easy for us to condemn. Just as I have just done in this tweet. It’s become really hard for us to not take sides. It’s become harder for us to try to find common ground and work together to find solutions that make our weakest stronger and our strongest confident enough to not feel threatened by change Which is where we need to get to @elonmusk you have a personal platform that can bring people together or push them apart. Which do you choose ?
Elon Musk@elonmusk

The fundamental axiomatic flaw of the woke mind virus is that the weaker party is always right (even if they want you to die). For most of history, the operating principle was that might makes right. As we became more civilized, we started to consider right in the absolute. This is sensible.

I don't understand what it feels like to identify with a gender other than what my birth certificate states. I don't understand what it is like to identify as non-binary. I don't have any neurological or physiological mappings of those experiences. But...I don't need to have that kind of understanding. It's not a requirement to be able to behave like a civil human being and treat someone with respect. It's not. My favorite things to put on a hamburger are mayonnaise, peanut butter, and dill pickles. I know the majority of people don't put that on their hamburger. When I put that out-of-the-ordinary combo on my hamburger in a restaurant...it draws some stares. That's okay. It is the nature of human beings to instinctively stare at anything different. Our brains scan for differences. It is natural to stare. To not stare at differences takes conscious effort. The "stare" neurons always fire first, and do not require conscious intention. The "don't stare!" thought kicks in after we already have. Prolonged staring is generally perceived as rude, for sure, but the initial reaction happens faster than we can think. What's not okay is to walk over to my table and start harassing me because my hamburger preferences are different than yours. If that were to happen, well....let's just leave that scenario alone. A 16-year-old non-binary student in Oklahoma died one day after a fight that took place in an Oklahoma school restroom. (I'm writing with restraint, waiting for the official investigations to be finished/released.) An investigation is ongoing, but...available information gives us a general idea of what happened...and it's nauseating. Right now, it appears this young teen died because they were "different" from the majority of the kids in that school. The Republicans behind the anti-LGTBQ antics are Republicans who believe that anything they don't understand...is "bad" and must somehow go away. Anything different scares the living shit out of them. They don't care that it might mean the death of a high school student whose death was likely the result of a brutal beating...just because they went into the restroom...and had previously been tagged as "different." Because Oklahoma is such an anti-LGTBQ state, the attitudes of the students who felt threatened by this now deceased student had no doubt been shaped by policies and attitudes of the state...to include religious attitudes and beliefs. We cannot let the horrific death of Nex Benedict drift into the dustbin of "past news stories." That would take this tragedy to yet another level of sadness. Call the office of Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt (405) 521-2342...and let his office know how you feel about Oklahoma's anti-LGTBQ campaign and the death of Nex Benedict. You can also call Lt. Governor Matt Pinnell (405) 521-2161.

On this day 82 years ago, on February 19, 1942, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, in the height of insanity of racism after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, signed Executive Order 9066. It ordered all Japanese Americans on the West Coast to be summarily rounded up and imprisoned within 10 barbed wire prison camps, with no charges, no trial, no due process. One day, a few months later, we saw two soldiers marching up our driveway, carrying rifles with shiny bayonets on them. They stopped up the porch right in front of our window and banged on the front door. My father answered, and one of the soldiers pointed the rifle at him, right in front of us, and ordered us out of our home. I had just turned five in April; it was May when they came to take us away. My father gave my brother Henry and me two heavy suitcases. And we brought them out onto the driveway and waited for our mother to come out. When she did, she had our baby sister in one arm, a huge duffel bag in the other, and tears were streaming down her cheeks. That is one morning that is seared into my memory. I will never be able to forget all the innocent people, my family included, who had nothing to do with Pearl Harbor, most of who were law abiding U.S. citizens, who were suddenly categorized as ‘enemy aliens.’ Today, I hear terrifying words from political leaders today that once more raise the specter of what happened before, right here in America. Donald Trump and his allies are talking about rounding up 11 million people and putting them into mass detention camps before deporting them. There won’t be time for due process, to sort out who is documented and who is not. Homes will be lost. Businesses, too. Families will be torn apart. Lives will be ruined, over fear and ignorance, all to serve the ambitions and agendas of politicians. I know, because I lived through it. I say, never again. Not while I have one ounce of fight still left in me. Join me. Fight this madness. Help keep America from repeating the mistakes of its past.
