@Onepeg Like I'm saying this with complete sincerity, you have the emotional resilience of a young child if you're this upset at some very very mild criticism delivered to you in a neutral way. You couldn't even remain consistent two posts down from my response because you got mad.

Hey gamers - this is NOT A SPONSORED THING - this is just an observation post from someone that you guys consider an industry shill (unless it's Tarkov and then I'm too mean... or Dark and Darker when I'm too mean to those devs ... unless I'm not and then I'm on the payroll - honestly at this point who knows... I'm shilling for SOMEONE though...)
Yesterday, I watched a former pro Apex player and someone who got world first in a prior Destiny 2 raid, @Tyraxe, and his team obtain the world first kill of the Compiler in the first-ever (that I've seen) PvPvE extraction raid-style map/instance.
Start to finish it took the trio approximately 12 hours to figure out the puzzles and obtain the items necessary (prior to farming all of the keys) in order to unlock and ultimately defeat the final boss.
I am aware the Bungie has gotten an absurd amount of scrutiny revolving around the creation/production of marathon between the Destiny playerbase feeling left out over the non-production of Destiny 3, the sundowning of prior content, the over-monetization of the Destiny IP, and the issues surrounding multiple-times-over theft of other people's artwork.
However, I feel as though Bungie is making a very concerted effort to repair the damage that they've done with their VERY fast response to cheating, exploiting, and balance with the patches they've put out in the last two weeks, they've made sure the artists that had their art stole (like AntiReal) were in the game credits and paid for their work, and they've made adjustments to their store.
All this to say that I believe Bungie's "nu-Marathon" has been a love letter to extraction gamers that love extraction games and between the Outpost map and this new Cryo Archive map, its layout, the encounters, the dynamics of PvP, and the raid boss elements/puzzle elements... They've made something absolutely fantastic.
I realize that the art style of the game isn't for everyone, and there are issues with the game being overly "bloom"-y and I know that extraction games also aren't for everyone, but IMO if you are an extraction game fanboy and you AREN'T playing Marathon for the challenges it offers you because you dislike Bungie or because you saw someone somewhere tell you that the game wasn't worth your $40, they outright lied to you.
Marathon is a PEAK extraction game experience. It absolutely deserves a seat at the "Tarkov/Arc Raiders" table, and if you can afford the $40, you should give it a serious look. It's that good.
Ok... looking forward to the "look at this graph" posts (actually where the fuck is the Nickelback photograph memes??? no one made one??? what is wrong with you guys I thought you were witty?) from everyone that doesn't actually play the game and believes whatever some random griftposter told them to believe.
But then again what do I know? I'm just some gamer that gets paid to play video games by my viewers and ad revenue. I'm just some guy with an opinion like any other guy...
