My neighbor’s cat has dementia, and he keeps forgetting he doesn’t actually live with us. Every morning, without fail, he strolls into our house like he pays the mortgage. He’ll hop on the couch, meow for snacks, and make himself comfortable — then look genuinely offended when we gently remind him, “Buddy… you don’t live here.” Five minutes later? He’s back at the door, ready to “visit” all over again. Honestly, at this point, we’ve stopped correcting him. If his little fuzzy brain says we’re part of his daily route, then who are we to argue? We just consider him our part-time roommate — rent-free, slightly confused, and very loved

Today’s ticket: "URGENT – Laptop won’t turn on after vacation. Critical." I ask the usual questions. Nothing. So I walk over. Laptop is closed. On a docking station. Docking station isn’t plugged into power. I press the laptop power button. It turns on. User: "No, no, you don’t get it. I tried that. It didn’t do anything." I check the logs. Last boot: 47 days ago. Battery level on startup: 1%. Me: "When you pressed the button, did anything appear on the screen?" "Yeah, a low battery symbol, then it died. That’s why it’s broken." I plug in the dock. Laptop charges, boots normally. "So… what did you do?" "Radical fix: electricity." I close the ticket as "Resolved – Educated user on existence of power."

Update: DARTs operating between Greystones & Howth DART, Belfast & Northern Commuter suspended between Malahide and Howth Junction, mechanical fault with maintenance vehicle, working to rectify. Bus transfers Rosslare/Gorey to Wicklow/Bray, debris and flooding on line. -AD

@CarlowWeather Anyone trying to drive into city via Fairview don’t, buses telling people to walk as traffic isn’t moving. Issues made worse by no trains coming from Howth back to Belfast as train blocking the line.

Flooding reported in Fairview Dublin but it is due to a burst water main! More travel disruption today in the capital.

Update: 16:30hrs. Significant disruption to travel on the DART/Commuter routes this evening. DART +50 minute delays on some services. Northern commuter route 10-15 minute delays expected. Maynooth commuter route +20 minutes Phoenix Park Tunnel +10-15 minutes expected. -CL
