@LFCjoelokeke @SamueILFC Need to look at HG, esp if Jones leaves. Wharton rumours aren't going away & can't him and Anderson. One of the Camara / Sangare potentially makes sense as the ball winner to play alongside. Bowen has a Shaqiri type feel to it if West Ham go down Feel like RW might be a curveball

@JoshLFC1909 Would happily extend Curtis for the right amount as a valuable squad member, if he wants to go elsewhere to establish himself as a starter then fair play, likewise if contract demands are excessive, makes sense to try and cash in

@SherekhanKlopp @GooalMouth 100% this, I'm far from sold on Slot but if Alonso's managerial career date had been for e.g. Mata suspect the clamour for him to replace Slot would be a lot less

Disclaimer. Xabi Alonso is my favourite player to have played for Liverpool. And also at Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. He’s one of the most influential deep lying playmakers in the game - for me - and was a huge part of each team’s success. This has been my stance for the last 22 years. It will not change. But Arne Slot not being Xabi Alonso (the coach) isn’t the negative it’s made out to be. The same man people are pining for went from 90 points to 69 points in his second season at Bayer Leverkusen, with the same squad and added reinforcements. If the explanation is that ‘the system stopped working’, that’s on Xabi Alonso as the coach to remediate and find a new way to win. He had no mitigating factors in the way. Alonso then got his dream job at Real Madrid. The points return was respectable on the surface, but all reports pointed to many senior players being alienated, and the football wasn’t exactly the expansive, attractive style his admirers promise for Liverpool. It was turgid and dull. Lacking, what’s that word? Identity. Nice word. If the defence is that the players weren’t receptive, that’s not a free pass either. His time at Madrid as a player should have been the perfect education in managing egos, dressing room dynamics, and the reality that the coach is only as strong as the buy-in he creates. He did not succeed in doing it. He failed to raise standards and implement his identity. That’s on him. Those are red flags. So it is no surprise Liverpool hasn’t pushed for him. You’d be jumping from one uncertainty to another, for what? To satisfy fan sentiment? Fans shouldn’t be driving recruitment decisions, and rightly so. If they were, you’d probably have Amorim in charge, Ugarte at 6, and a random mix of flavour-of-the-month players on the wings. Someone the other day suggested Harry Wilson… Arne Slot isn’t Xabi Alonso. And that’s a good thing. Alonso the player left Liverpool for Madrid. Alonso the coach rejected Liverpool for Madrid. No thanks. If a coaching change is truly needed, an exponential upgrade is in order. Not a mercenary who would jump at the first sign of a bigger opportunity.

Liverpool’s decision-makers have so far looked to give Arne Slot a fair crack of the whip at Anfield. Now they must decide whether the fair decision is the same as the right one. Weighing up the arguments for and against the #LFC boss staying in place. espn.co.uk/soccer/story/_…

Interesting interview with John Henry: “Fans get frustrated, The Sox looked terrible for (their) first 25 games. I remember a plane flying overhead when we (LFC) were beating Manchester United 7-0 that read ‘FSG OUT!’” “It doesn’t mean you ignore them, it means you work harder – you dont settle for mediocrity. You have to win."

Trent Kone-Doherty on why he decided to leave Liverpool: “I was ready to start playing senior football, but at that moment I wasn’t getting that at Liverpool. "It wasn’t an easy decision. My whole life was in Liverpool. I had three years there, but I think it was best for my career. I had to make the decision in the end. You just have to be brave sometimes and take control of your career."

Dumbass fucks? Ok you’re aware of him, his father and his agent tweaking for Barca for multiple years, trying to get a move? But it didn’t happen so he accepted Bayern You’re aware he was actually on more than 65k a week? You’re aware with his age and the fact he wanted away from the club we accepted a 75m offer for him? You’re aware that his G/As in the prem are nowhere near to what he’s getting now showing how easy the Bundesliga is for some players? Course you don’t😂
NASBA FC@SixtusAbiakam

🔴🤔 Did you know? Luis Díaz’s salary at Liverpool was £65,000 per week. Liverpool delayed extending his contract to avoid a wage increase. Díaz’s side requested a raise to £250,000 per week, but it wasn’t granted. Then FC Bayern Munich came in with a €75 million offer and a £250,000 weekly salary, exactly what he wanted and it was accepted. Liverpool let him go, considering Cody Gakpo is younger. And did you know? That £250,000 weekly wage is now being paid to Gakpo. Dumb as f* 😂😂😂**

It feels like the season is ending at just the wrong time for Will Wright, who has very much found his feet in the last couple of months at Liverpool. Has set a great foundation for himself for next season, in form but provides a different challenge for centre-backs.

@KevinKelly3 @Lfcbami3 Nah, that's fair. I don't think he's terrible with his feet. I saw it said a while back but an underrated problem is his dominant foot is his left foot, which means his easy out is to our weaker ball playing CB

@fildinni @Lfcbami3 There's nobody like Ali in the world so if youre looking for an exact replacement you're delduded. He isn't just elite at one thing he's great at everytbing bar with the ball at his feet and that's an issue we can work around which is my whole point.

Letting Alisson Becker go isn’t a bad idea . But the problem is who is good enough to fill the void?? Assuming we haven’t sold Kelleher we might be a bit confident. But looking at Alisson injury records recently it’s worrying and injury doesn’t make your stronger it makes players drop in performance.

@KevinKelly3 @Lfcbami3 Peak Alisson was an elite shot stopper who was good with his feet. His 1v1 ability was also a big factor in our high line. If my gk is only elite in one thing, agree it had better be shot stopping but the game demands more now

I’m old enough to remember the devastating impact injuries had on Owen & Ronaldo when they were young. They were genuine heroes & stars at 18 - bigger than anyone right now. Going through that kind of physical & mental trauma so young is not right at all. That’s why I’ll always back caution with young players. The costs of over-exposure are too great. But so many fans just don’t really care. Instant gratification culture - horrible #LFC
Jesse Morse, M.D.@DrJesseMorse

Estevão “Fully ruptured hamstring” This is likely a similar injury to what Dak Prescott had during the 2024 season where the actual tendon pulled away from the bone. This is technically a grade 3 full thickness tear, sometimes pulling bone off with it. That level of severity, especially in a high-level athlete, usually recommend surgery. The recovery time is significant sometimes over 6 months and closer to 9 months. Often players aren’t 100% back to normal for over a year.

Someone is wondering why City, not Arsenal are top when they both have the same number of points. The Premier League uses five tiebreakers to separate clubs that finish level on points. Most fans know the first one. Almost nobody knows the last three. And right now, with five games left in the 2025-26 season, every single one of them matters. According to Section C of the Premier League Handbook 2025-26, under the heading Determination of League Table Placings, when two or more clubs finish level on points the following criteria are applied in this exact order. First, goal difference across all 38 league games. Second, total goals scored across the season. Third, head-to-head points between the tied clubs specifically. Fourth, away goals scored in those head-to-head matches. Fifth, and only if all four criteria above have failed to separate the clubs and the position is material to the title, European qualification or relegation, a one-off playoff at a neutral ground determined by the Premier League Board. City and Arsenal currently lead the Premier League with 70 points. Both clubs have won 70 points with five games remaining and the title would be decided entirely by earlier mentioned tiebreakers. The title has been decided by goal difference exactly once in Premier League history. In 2011-12, Manchester City and Manchester United both finished on 89 points. City had +64. United were on +56. Aguero's 94th-minute winner against QPR is the reason most people know that rule exists. This season, the margin is one goal. Every match between now and 24 May counts. Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a beautiful run-in on our hands My name is Ajoje. I am a FIFA Licensed Agent and International Sports Lawyer. I write on the Law and Business of Football, a lot.
