There’s one thing people rarely talk about: A lot of indie developers have kids. My most productive hours start right after I drop them off at school. Coffee with my wife, then 5–6 hours of pure focus. No noise. No distractions. Another 1–2 hours in the evening. Kids force you to become efficient. No more 12-hour grind sessions. You rebuild your systems. Cut the noise. Focus on what actually moves the needle. Funny enough – my income started growing after I had a family. And it keeps growing. And the best part: My 8-year-old son is already building games in Roblox. Talking about his future company. Thinking about money, investing, family. That’s a different kind of motivation.

I think Melvyn is still right...look at their api pricing: for a million tokens, prices for latest models are quite high..and all this, as mentioned above, with VC funding..it is expected to burn 6 billions this year, more than in the previous years...so they are still deeply unprofitable...

@melvynx For your example above Anthropic charges you $536 via API key Anthropic costs: Electricity + Upfront cost of GPUs, maybe 20-30% of all that. Rest is their margin Cursor has negotiated price = Anthropic makes slightly less margin, but it's still margin

Just so people know: I used Cursor for 4 days with API credits enabled and spent $536 This is the REAL cost of coding with AI Claude Code and Codex are just hiding it If VC money stops, we'll all be paying $200 a day just to code with frontier models
