FinnOS is almost ready. We just need to improve the UI/UX on the actual OS, make the system apps for FinnOS, make an App Store and finish off with the App Porting Toolkits. We couldn't be happier to announce that the Developer Beta could come sooner than expected.

Have you ever used a true Linux smartphone? (not counting Andriod here) Back in the day, I was among the first few to buy an Ubuntu Phone. It was a bq device and the experience was ...well... very experimental. But that was in 2014-15. I had to go back to my Android smartphone again after unsuccessfully using it for 3 months. I am sure things would have improved by now (hopefully) for Linux smartphones.

Regarding the release of FinnOS, we can confirm that the first Developer Beta will be launched before December 2026. Contributions and more notice will surely make the OS ship faster and grow more mature. We’re also introduct an app porting toolkit, more details on September.

An update regarding FinnOS. We switched to Linux Kernel + Buildroot base system. This allows us to develop the OS faster and add support for more and more devices. We also added a front-end UI named Peony, built on Flutter, for native experiences. github.com/Finn-Technolog…

We found some benchmarks that can run locally, so we'll upload them soon.

We’d have liked to add benchmarks. Sadly we don’t have a great computer, the training happened on an M4 MacBook Air with 16GB RAM and limited storage. We can’t run traditional benchmarks like SWE-Bench because those require more power. We’d love to see you try the model, tho.

e1 is almost AGI. Got the question wrong in the end but it did consider the car being really dirty.
