The Bokke did so much more tonight than just win this match. And good grief, what a match. It was so bladdy intense. They did it again. They brought us together. There is something so magical about World Cups. Especially Rugby ones… when we get to come together as South Africans to support our Bokke. And so many of us around the world were screaming for them! Some around a braai with friends and family. Some down the road at their local. Some on their phones while loadshedding tried to take away their gees. And some in bars in faraway lands. But we came together to shout for South Africa. And they did us so flipping proud. Our country is going through so much. All the time. Every single day. We can sometimes - very often - get lost in the never-ending decay, the constant crime, harrowing poverty, gross corruption, political games to constantly divide, the total lack of leadership and the sadness and fear that seems to consume us all. But tonight our Bokke came out the gates, played with all their heart and brought us together again. Tonight felt like that final match in 2019. Or the one in 2007. Or that one in 1995. Do you remember what Nelson Mandela said all those years ago? "Sport has the power to change the world. Sport has the power to inspire. It has the power to unite people in a way that little else does. Sport can create hope where there was only despair." What an incredibly big responsibility our Bokke have: to unite our country in the face of all our adversities. To create hope where there is despair. And they make it look so flipping easy. They teach us that great things can be achieved when we work together towards a common goal. So ja, the Bokke did so much more tonight than just win a match against France. They brought us together. Again. And now we are in the semi finals! SOUTH AFRICA, WE ARE IN THE SEMI FINALS!!! Ngiyabonga Bokke! Okay. Love you. Bye. #Bokke #RWC2023 #FRAvRSA #StrongerTogether

The vast majority of South Africans want to live in a law abiding, prosperous society with equal opportunities for everyone. They want a future for their kids. Hateful, fear-mongering, threatening voices are very loud. But they don’t represent who we are. Not at all.

Taking control over things you can control should be a priority. Things like getting up on time, being prepared, making that call or writing that first draft seem small but their results compound over time. #Control #StartingToday #startsmall
