Bridgwater United Women’s captain Hana Bennett is set for a spell on the sidelines after it was confirmed she requires knee surgery following a recent injury. The influential midfielder, who has been a key figure for the club, since joining over a year ago, sustained the injury during a training session recently. Everyone at the club have expressed their support for Bennett, describing her leadership and presence as “irreplaceable” both on and off the pitch. The club says her recovery and rehabilitation will be carefully managed, though no official timeline has been placed on her return. Team mate, Manfy Sharpe, has set up a GoFundMe page for Hana, in the hope to reduce the long waiting list, which comes with such operations.
