@drandrewmackay Getting a work mobile has been a game changer for me. Only turned on when I’m at work or on-call. Remain blissfully oblivious to the WhatsApp messages and emails flying about. Not found a downside as yet.

I saw Pat Cash in East Midlands airport on my way home from PACES. I don’t think I had a camera phone at that time and certainly in the days before selfies. Just left hm in peace. Of course, if I’d passed first time at the Monklands I wouldn’t even have this lame story to share.

No surprise here. What is clear is the solution is not with individuals or wellbeing hotlines. People’s lives at stake (and not just patients sadly). Safe staffing numbers would be a start and not an unfair goal.

Tomorrow I celebrate an emerald (20 year) anniversary working as a doctor. (would have got less for murder) It's not always been an easy relationship, but I still love you NHS. Good luck to all the new docs starting tomorrow, enjoy the next 20+

This is my Grandma Dorothy. She died peacefully last night, aged 91. She let me eat cake batter out of the bowl, taught me to gamble for money, and spent my life telling me I could be anything I wanted. She loved her family to the moon and back. May she rest in peace.
