Been a @monzo customer since 2016, yesterday they froze all my accounts without warning because they believed a transaction to be a “scam”
They’re not able to give an update on when they’ll be unfrozen just “asap”. If Monzo is your primary account I’d suggest moving.

@DJRUSSKE @monzo Not sorted yet no. I received an email yesterday saying my account was being closed. I’ve had to send them account details for another non monzo uk account for my funds to be sent to.. which will take up to 4 weeks 😮
Accounts got 35k in it and they’re now not responding to me

@fitdadtom Did you get this sorted ?? I sent a friend £1500 last week from my business account & they’ve blocked his account , froze his funds & zero response on email & he has outgoings due to come out yesterday @monzo no response on email either , scam

@LizardMorgan hi Lizzie, I stumbled across an article you wrote for @monzo regarding account blocks and closures.
I’m in a situation where my accounts been blocked, I’m not being given reason and/or a timeframe for how long I can expect it to be down for and obviously have a life to run. I need my accounts.
Can you help me? It’s getting desperate

@monzo Makes no odds where I speak to you. Everyone comes back to me with the same regurgitated script you do. I will keep responding and writing on X until I get a response and access to my accounts. It’s awful what Monzo are doing.

I’ve complained and spoke to your in app people all week. I’m bored of it, it’s useless. Everyone seems to also ignore the part about my kids I need money to feed. Why? It’s true. You’re withholding my money without reason and aren’t giving me any further help.
Responses like the one above from Niko are offensive and he knows it. He’s getting as bored with talking to me as I am him and it’s clear to see. The only difference is he’s not in this situation, I am.
You say you can’t chase it? Why? That’s insane. I’ve never heard of a bank being unable to chase an ongoing issue.

@pricey_price88 @monzo I’d advise looking at another bank. Your issues with customer service sadly continue when you have one. For context my account was randomly frozen just under a week ago and nobody will a) tell me why or b) tell me how long I’ll be without it. Honestly red flags everywhere!

@edward_farina I just opened Revolut account but have not transferred any crypto to it yet. Any challenges out ramping through it? Have not tried Monzo yet. This is a million dollar question.

@lewimorris @monzo Yeah I’m finding it extremely annoying. The so called “specialist” team are looking in to it. I’m beginning to run out of patience. Any high street bank generally fixes these kinds of things without issue very quickly.

@fitdadtom @monzo Took them 15 hours but they responded asking for proof the transaction was genuine and not a scam and then unfroze anything.
The lack of visibility into what’s going on and not being able to speak to anyone over the phone about it is quite disconcerting.

@monzo you’ve had my account locked for over a week now with no explanation. The only response I get is “wait for our specialist team”- this service is beyond a joke and is incomprehensible that you’d deem it acceptable. I have a family that relies on the funds that come from that account. Can someone please sort this out for me today.
