Willing to bet money that Secret Wars is going to set up Hugh Jackman to stay as Wolverine for the MCU's X-Men. Maybe I'm just being too doubtful but the fact that DP&W made $1.3B and Hugh has stated he's willing to keep going makes me doubtful that Marvel Studios would recast.

@FJDesanto @krolljvar Except it is, their options without Spider-Man were more easily handled than the ones that asked for a whole different script without the Sokovia Accords plot and many missing characters like Stark.

All this BRAND NEW DAY success got me thinking how the aftermath of the second Garfield SPIDER-MAN is such huge sliding door moment not just for Spidey but for movie in general.

I have been trying to figure out the reasons why this Spider-Man movie is overperforming by so much and I think a big one is how perfect Marvel & Sony have handled the Spider-Man IP over the past 10ish years. Near perfect string of releases building audience confidence.

@FJDesanto I’ve always wondered why the TMNT got Dominos in the original 1990 movie, for that matter (which didn’t make sense since the VHS partnered with Pizza Hut, lol). At least the sequel had “Roy’s,” which was actually a Famous Ray’s, if I remember correctly.
