Crash 4 should've done this imo.
Drop the "4" and just call it It's About Time and just change the opening so it takes place after Mind Over Mutant and nothing would really change at all. Dingodile owning a diner and Tawna retuning would make sense better.

Another wonderful thing is that Spyro: A Realm Beyond comes to every platform on day 1. This is how I can tell Xbox has more control over that project than Activision because if the latter were in charge, it would only come out on PS5 & Xbox Series & then other platforms later

Then the ps2 games came after Spyro 1-3 leading into a sequel a generation later that is skylanders. But this new game could be an alternate time line
